After we see the Temptation Competition, we will find out who Josh puts up on the block this week along with the third nom. Who will Josh’s target be this week? Will it be the obvious Jessica and Cody nomination? Keep refreshing this page to find out right here with my Big Brother 19 live recap!
Tonight’s episode started off with Josh breaking down after winning the HOH. Paul is happy because he is safe and he knows that Jessica and Cody aren’t. Mark is worried because he has had his ups and downs with Josh, but he thinks he is off his radar because they were able to talk things out.
Cody and Jessica are talking in their room about how Josh has HOH and they aren’t feeling very safe. Meanwhile, Josh is talking with Christmas, Raven, Jason and Paul about how Mark and Elena are mad. Moments later, Mark walks in and then Alex walks in talking about how Mark is mad and Mark is sitting right there. This turns into Mark and Alex going into the other room to talk about why she is doesn’t like him and she tells him that it’s because he flip flops so much. She tells him that if he is going to continue to flip flop they are not going to be ok.
Paul, Christmas and Josh are talking and Josh is saying how he wants Jessica, Cody, Mark and Elena all out of the house. Christmas tells him the only dilemma he is going to have is picking which two to put on the block. Paul says, “oh no, we know which two. Jessica and Cody.” Christmas says in the DR that she would be ok with them having a conversation, but she doesn’t like how he is telling Josh who to put up. Josh is the HOH, not Paul.
Elena and Josh are having a conversation in the storage room and she is asking him if she is safe this week. He tells her he is still thinking about what he is going to do and can’t make any promises she won’t be on the block. He mentions that it’s because her and Mark voted for him to be evicted and she is trying to explain that she had no idea that the rest of the house was planning to save him. They all told her and Mark to vote for Josh while everyone else was in on the plan to keep him.
Later we see as Josh tells Paul and Christmas that he wants Elena out before Jessica, but Paul has been working on his game relationship and he doesn’t want Josh to ruin that. He is trying to get Josh’s sights back on Jessica. When Paul leaves the room, she tells Josh that as much as she loves Paul, he shouldn’t do everything Paul says.
We then see a conversation between Josh and Christmas later on and he is telling her that he wants Elena out before Jessica. However, Elena is locked in with Paul and he doesn’t think Paul will ever go for it. Josh is then talking about how Paul is taking over his HOH and Christmas tells him he needs to be a little stingy with his HOH room then. She tells him to lock his door. Josh tells us that he doesn’t care what Paul thinks, he wants Elena gone this week.
The HGs hear the Den of Temptation voice come over the speakers and the HGs will now have to figure out if they are going to compete in the comp. Jessica and Cody are talking about how one needs to win the Temptation Comp and one needs to win the Veto in order for both of them to be safe this week.
Like last week, the HGs have to drink a green potion to compete and a red potion to turn it down. Everyone drinks the green one except for Christmas and Josh isn’t eligible to play because he is HOH. This Temptation Comp is super creepy and they have to find letters in the house and and try unscramble them to make a word. They then have to find an item in the house match the word and put it into a box. The person who does it the fastest wins and the slowest HG becomes the final nominee.
The clues are hidden around the house and I have to say production has done a great job at putting the creepiest ghouls and ghosts in this house to try and scare the HGs. Not to mention, the house is pitch black and the only lights the HGs get are head lamps. Listening to the HGs scream is hilarious.
It is time to find out how the HGs did. Mark did it in seven minutes and six seconds, Kevin did it in three minutes and 11 seconds. Elena did it in 12 minutes and 31 seconds and Jason did it in 12 minutes and 6 seconds. Jess did it in 15 minutes, Raven did it in nine minutes and Cody did it in three minutes. Matt did it in three minutes and 42 seconds and Alex did it in three minutes and six seconds and Paul did it in three minutes and 34 seconds.
Which means that Cody won and is safe and Jessica lost and is the third nom. Jessica purposely threw the comp to become the third nom, why? Because she wanted to make sure there are two other people on the block next to her which gives her a better chance because the person being evicted needs less votes. She also gets to play in Veto and has a chance of saving herself.
After the comp, Josh tells Paul he still wants Elena out, but Paul is still trying to talk him into Jessica being the target. Josh tells us that Elena is going to be his target regardless of what Paul wants. Paul goes to Elena and tells her that he is pretty sure that Josh is going to put Elena and Mark up as pawns. He tells her that he offered to be a pawn, but Josh said that he wanted Elena and Mark up there.
Elena goes up to talk to Josh and he tells her that he is putting her up there because she is a good competitor. She tells him that Paul said he would go on the block, but he didn’t want that. He then calls Paul up because she is throwing Paul under the bus. When Paul gets into the room, Josh turns it into Josh telling Paul that she threw him and Alex under the bus. He basically twisted her words a little to make it look better to Paul.
We end the episode off with the Nomination Ceremony where Josh puts Elena and Mark up on the block. During his nomination speeches, he tells Mark that he is a meatball, tells Elena that she is a strong competitor, but she was the best nomination considering Jessica is already on the block and tells Jessica that she is his target, but she isn’t.

Some people’s kids! Sheesh! 🙂
Sorry i missed the show. Was otherwise engaged. Actually i fell asleep but don’t tell anyone. Shhhh!
Haha no worries. I won’t hold it against you this time because I ate your cake. 🙂
Good episode. Finally I’m starting to hear several unexpected hgs talking negatively about Paul. They’re starting to wake up. Josh saying “this is my HOH not Paul.” almost made me like Josh. For just a second or two.
Looking forward to a double eviction show. It’s time to start sending some people home. Paul and Josh, I’m looking at you.
Paul is really nice. He even lets Josh use the HOH room during Josh’s HOH! Friendship.
Totally get what you are saying, but IMO the smart thing for Josh to do is to “handle” Paul like Paul handles him … smooth it over, don’t ambush. Is Josh capable of that kind of sophisticated maneuver? Don’t think so. Josh says he is not emotional, but yikes! He wants Elena out so badly now because she intimidated and humiliated him when she was defending being put up which, by the way, was torture to listen to her repeat herself over and over – reminded me of a pitbull, she wouldn’t let go. It was not good for her game.
I thought she was pretty smart for doing that. It seems her plan was for Cody to win safety (he did) and for her to insure her play in the veto and to be up against two people instead of one which might upset the vote distribution to her advantage. Seems to me she used every advantage one could think of .. she figured she would be on the block anyway and she was right about that. I can’t stand HotMessica or Coldy, but I give her credit for this move and hope it doesn’t work – with Josh, anything can happen – he’s a meatball and a ticking time bomb.
I think production told them a lot of things for this little demonstration all put on for TV IMO. No wonder it took ten hours – they had a lot of comments to memorize and film for the show. I know, I am so cynical about Production editing and/or prompting players. I hate that, but so much of what is on TV seems contrived.
It’s like they think they are too good to have to play the social aspect of the game – right from the very beginning they alienated themselves and were both so condescending to everyone – something that seems edited out of the TV shows. Instead they are portrayed as victims.
I have a question for you. Why do you think they blindly follow Paul? He’s just a 24 year old kid. All the men (except Josh) are older. Same for the women except maybe Raven. Jsason is 38 and he’s one of Paul’s pets. I truly don’t get it.
Right there with you on production manipulation! I’m thinking it took a lot of extra time to set up and take down all those goulish decorations!
IMO it’s because they believe his history in the game makes him smarter than them — not to mention that IMO they are lazy and incompetent and it is easier to follow directions than to think of a plan, commit to it, communicate and manipulate and take risks. I think they are all floaters at this point – except Paul – and HotMessica and Coldy who are not floaters, but have terrible, terrible social skills.
I think you nailed it 🙂
They have some really cool nightlights these days!
…and if you recall Jessica’s pre-show interview, she said her plan was to avoid any showmance and to just lay back and listen and have everyone like her and then she jumped on the first “muscle” that came in the door and never got off. She is actually insinuating she might be pregnant and the two of them are planning names and futures for their children! WTF?
Don’t worry, the real world will slap her back to reality. But just in case, i suggest “Jody” as a name for their baby. Works for either boy or girl 🙂
I totally agree. Because of their actions early on, Jody have – literally and figuratively – made their bed and are sleeping in t alone. What a narrow perspective they have on the game! That said, after what Paul did to them with the Ramses blindside – and EVERYONE in that house looked Jessica or Cody straight in the eye and lied to them without flinching – they have serious trust issues. There is NO WAY Josh would have been able to convince Jessica that he was telling her the truth about flipping the vote to get Elena out. Their only option now is comps. Sad, but true.
Baby’s name, Jody, love it 🙂
If you don’t mind me butting in with a thought. I agree with Linda, but I think there are several things at play.
Paul is GOOD at manipulating people because he is charming and funny (humor really does break down barriers). They sincerely LIKE and TRUST Paul! The house is also full of people who don’t honestly believe they will win the $500,000, so they’ve bought into his stories about how getting to jury and maximizing camera time while in the house is enough – and that he can help them outside the house with his instincts. (He’s not just any vet, he’s a popular vet.) Along with Paul’s early protection, then throw in the “Cody is public enemy #1” (which Cody caused), and you have WEEKS for Paul to work his magic on them. Now they are invested in trusting Paul. Besides, they have “plenty” of time to focus on Paul later, right? They just need to get Jody out. And then Marlena, who sided with Jody for 5 minutes. And heck with the focus on those four no one is saying THEIR names as a possible nominee!
Paul has masterfully (with help from production and Cody) bought himself a built-in EASY first half of the season. Why they can’t see that, if he’ll lie to and about another hg, he’ll do the same to them – and eventually Jody and Marlena will be gone – is beyond me.
I didn’t see Jessica’s interview but I did see Cody talking to Jeff. Jeff asked him about showmances and, of course, Cody said showmances are stupid and never work out. Then he remembered who he was talking to.
If Jessica is pregnant by some guy she just met a few weeks ago, well, that’s stupid.
Don’t mind at all – in fact, thank you, thank you for great insight!
Your thoughts are always welcome. Paul has somehow convinced people that it is a great prize to make it to the jury house and become BB Famous. Some are actually making moves to ensure they make it to jury so they can “party at the jury house”. The problem is if you’ve ever watched BB you can see right thru him. They obviously don’t see it. If he’s lying right to your face about someone else you can rest assured he’s lying to them about you.
I greatly respect Cody for his service. I think he’s a great competitor.. The way he focused on the Haunted House was a joy to watch. Mission Accomplished. However his social game is horrible. I can’t even call it a social game. I don’t know what he’s doing. If anyone wants to give up their game for a showmance then they should just go home. No one wants to see that mess.
Handling Paul should be everyone’s mission. Josh won’t do it because he’s too silly. I’m hoping someone we haven’t seen yet has a plan. I think Kevin is smart enough and cunning enough to get the job done.
I think you’re right. Kevin is smart enough to get the job done. And Paul would never see it coming.
I pulling for Kevin. I’m hoping if he does well this season BB will open the house to older players who are in it to play the game & win. I get so tired watching these 20 somethings lying around in bed all day playing grab ass.
Agree with that assessment 100%!
I wrote 2 paragraphs about Cody and then deleted them. None of my long winded explanations of why he does what he does is sufficient. I’m sure i’ll get some blow-back from my next statement but it’s been my experience as a sister, daughter and wife of military men that leads me to believe that the word “stoic” is embedded into them from boot camp onward. To me Cody is the embodiment of that word.
.
I have high hopes for Kevin. Perhaps that’s why I’m just WAITING to be disappointed by some stupid move on his part. To Kevin’s credit: I think he’s played this game almost 100% on instinct, rather than any skill at the BB game. Pretty smart guy.
That comes from sleeping with one eye open when you have 7 kids.
Yes! Completely agree.
I agree. ESPECIALLY Marines. I watched the pilot for “Person of Interest” last night. Striking to me how much Jim Caviezel in that show reminds me of Cody!!!
I thought he had 8 kids – 7 daughters and 1 son.
I’m pretty sure it’s 7 altogether unless he’s adopted Paul.
I think his brood is growing … I thought it was 5 girls and one boy!
6 daughters and 1 son 🙂
Haha my cable box has a super bright blue light on it which is good enough for me 🙂 I know all about the night lights too though. My 5 year old is also afraid of the dark and I’ve tried almost every different one LOL
We all hope for that every year. But they don’t listen to us. The viewers don’t seem to matter. I have also been for team Kevin. At least he is acting mature.
Yeah I just looked it up on line. Thanks!
I remembered the conversation he had in his interview with Jeff. If I’m not mistaken, his son is his youngest.
I guess it’s possible they HAVE been listening. On BB Canada they had 53 year old Karen and she came in second place. And she was FUNNY just like Kevin. The same people cast both shows so maybe they got the hint and are testing the BBUS waters. Probably not but i suspect Kevin will get far because a good sense of humor can get you a long way.
Right. He said his son would be a senior in high school when he got home.
He is from a family of 7 and has 7 of his own. Go Kevin Lucky 7
No blow-back from me. I did 20 years in USAF. That stoic demeanor is what you develop to focus on whatever your assignment happens to be. It can save lives.
However, you still have to display a little humanity. Cody feels threatened so he is in constant battle mode. Plus he was a Marine and that’s a whole different thing. Even other military people look at Marines and say “Damn”. They are incredibly intense. I love them! 🙂
ESPECIALLY Marines!
I guess if I’m going to make comments about BB19 I should at least watch the show eh?
I once dated a Marine but that’s a story for another day…and website 🙂
LOL
That’s what i’m going to do. Start giving out Friendship bracelets. You like diamonds or pearls? Oh wait….money….umm…make that Cheerios or Fruit loops?
Thank you Gregory. My son was a Marine of 8 years. He done 2 yours of Iraq. We asked him why he wanted to back a second time. He said to go back and bring my brothers home. He is a very serious person. The marines teach you to be serious. Thank you for your service to.
Well, you’ve heard “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend”?
