Big Brother 2013 Spoilers: Finale – Candice Stewart Interview (VIDEO)
|Sometimes it is hard to get a good read on these HouseGuests on Big Brother 2013, especially considering the circumstances they are under. It was a season with some terrible things said and done and Candice Stewart was one of the big victims on Big Brother 15 (besides the fans for having to put up with this cast all summer long). Check out her interview with Jeff Schroeder after the Big Brother 15 finale in my Big Brother 2013 spoilers video below!
After watching this interview, I have a new respect for Candice. She seems like a classy lady who also had some things to work on for herself. She didn’t handle herself in the best ways at times, but then she felt attacked and that is how she dealt with it. She has great poise to herself and she is a gorgeous woman. She thinks Aaryn Gries is sincere with her apologies, so we should all believe it coming from the person who dealt with Aaryn’s crap the most!

Candice is from Houston, I’m from Houston & I went to Gary Job Corps in San Marcos for 15 months where Aaron lives.
Every black person in San marcos probably knows Aaron. i still don’t believe shes sincere. She has the LOOK of a racist. Its in her eyes. Candice is very kind. Aaron went home & told her parents how sick she was to apologize to Candice.
I like to watch BB, but its not a place for black people. I like to watch it even though blacks don’t have a chance in hell of winning the game. It would be best if black people didn’t go in the BB house. Its a waste of time.
Shame on you Jonte. If Candice can forgive Aaryn, a person who hurt HER face-to-face, what gives you the right to judge the girl based on what she looks like?! Maybe you should practice what you preach and not let a person’s outward appearance determine how she should be treated.
I respect your right to have your own opinion, and I’m sure you’ve encountered some unfair prejudice in your life. But I would encourage you to follow Candice’s classy example because you may become a happier person.
@Lilly
I don’t visit websites to jump on the band wagon with the most popular comments.
I’m not an unhappy person. I just don’t agree with the comments about Aaron.
I have my own opinions & my opinions don’t make me wrong just because they are different. one thing i am, is a very good judge of character & i do know that Aaron is a bonafied racist. i understand Candice believing Aaron. That does not mean i have to believe her bull.
my opinion is MINE. Your opinion is yours.
Lilly,
you said i’m judging a girl based on what she looks like? Outward appearance? Where is that in my comment?
I said Aaron is a racist. The hatred for blacks is in her EYES, she despise black people. its just who she is. I’m just stating facts.
Jonte, you are basing your very strong, judgmental opinions about a girl you’ve never even SEEN in person – just because you can tell by her eyes!? You said, in fact that “she has the LOOK of a racist.” And no, you are NOT “stating facts”; you’re arguing your OPINION.
Look, I have NO IDEA if Aaryn is sincerely sorry. I’m not defending her. That’s between her and God. But if Candice – bless her classy, dear, sweet heart – can forgive Aaryn, then who are we to judge? You absolutely do NOT have to accept Aaryn’s apology as real. But perhaps it’s just time to let that debate go.
BTW, no one here (with any intelligence) will say you have to “jump on the bandwagon” or agree with them. But, in my opinion, you are difficult to debate because you refuse to see ANY merit in the other side’s argument.
Lilly,
I’m stating my opinion. I’m not changing my opinion because of what Candice says. Candice is being polite because Aaron is speaking to her in a civilized manner now instead spewing unnecessary hate at her..
Aaron is doing damage control. All you have to do is apologize to a black person. we except all apologies. That warrants forgiveness. I nor Candice believes Aarons bull.
candice knows Aaron is full of it. She just excepts her apology.
“you are difficult to debate because you refuse to see ANY merit in the other sides arguement”?
I see the merit in your arguements. I just don’t agree with your assessment of the situation..
We are each entitled to have an opinion on this but, in my humble opinion, the one I choose to agree with is Candice’s opinion. After all she was the one who had contact with Aaryn in real life–as far as I know, none of us on this board has ever met her or even seen her except on TV and in photographs. That being the case, if Candice says she thinks Aaryn is just ignorant as opposed to being racist then I will accept her word. Would she have any reason to say that if it were not her true belief? Candice is living out her Christian faith in letting go of unforgiveness and grudges which is what we who call ourselves Christians are commanded to do. Candice truly has shown class and grace.
This reminds me of a saying that is often quoted by friends of mine who are in AA. It is worded differently from person to person but it basically advises us that “Holding onto anger is like drinking poison and expected the other person to die.” There are many other terms which can be substituted for “anger”–e.g. hatred, resentment, grudges, unforgiveness, etc. This quote is often mistakenly attributed to Buddha. Its true origin is not known but most people believe it originated somewhere in one of the earliest Alcohol Anonymous groups. I have always been a researcher but, in this case, the origin is not the important thing–it’s the message. It took me awhile to learn that forgiving is not necessarily forgetting or saying the other person is right–it is just letting go of poisons inside oneself that are soul-killers. BTW, there is a similar, but more “pungent,” quote from Buddha: “Hatred is throwing cow dung at another; you dirty your hands first, before you dirty others.”
Thank you for letting me express these ideas. There is way too much hatred in our world and, as long as there are people, I am afraid it will never be eliminated but we can each do our part not to add to it.
Quite profound, Tessa. Thank you!
I thought I had proofread that but missed one:
should be “expecting the other person to die” and not “expected.”
I also left off that it is OK to hate if you are talking about things like injustice, racism, child abuse, porn, cruelty, etc. etc. etc. but let’s not hate each other and thus pile more onto the load that each of us is carrying.
Thank you, Lily, and I really appreciate your last post. Did you notice that we posted at exactly the same time–eerie, huh?!
Pr team Aarons mom hired are really earning their paychecks. They swooped in on Aaron to advice her immediately how to handle herself.
& all you people are buying it. Money well spent. So many gullible people.
Very classy Jonte (not).
garyr
Very classy jonte (not)?
Aaron is misunderstood & I have no class.are you serious??
All of this support for Aaron is a WHITE thing & nothing more.
Everyone was bashing Candice when she was in pain. now that Aaron has decided to speak to her like a human being, everyone thinks Candice is classy.
I do have class. & I don’t have to support Aaron to prove it to you.
Aaron said she is writing a book. racists always capitalize off treating black people like garbage. Zimmerman is still making money off killing Trayvon. Maybe with you guys help Aaron can get her own reality show.
Alright, Jonte, despite my better judgment, I’m gonna say it: YOU are a racist.
We’ve tried talking to you, explaining, debating, arguing, and NOTHING gets through to you that we do NOT condone Aaryn’s actions, we do NOT defend her, we just are going on Candice’s word that she believes Aaryn is sincere. Those of us who have tried to talk to you intelligently have stated: TIME WILL TELL. You may turn out to be right about Aaryn, but you may not. We are willing to wait and see. You are not.
You and people like you are what’s WRONG with this country. You pre-judge people based on your own prejudices just like the white trash who evilly judge people based on their skin color. You are two sides to the same coin, IMO.
This is my last post to you. You cannot be talked to intelligently, so I’m done trying. I’m very sad to admit that, but trying to talk to you is like trying to convince a white supremacist the err of HIS ways. Can’t be done short of a God-like miracle. And I’m not God.
@Lilly
I never ONCE said you people CONDONE Aarons behavior. i just said I think Aaron is full of shit with her FAKE apology to Candice. In all my comments I have just been saying to you all that Aaron is a true racist. Thats all.
“You and people like you are whats wrong with this counrty, you prejudge people based on your own prejudices”?
I didn’t prejudge Aaron, I POST judged her. & I’m not prejudice, state It always dumbfounds me when a black person won’t give in to a white persons arguement. The first thing the white person says to the black person is, “you are racist. What a LAUGH!ROTFLMBAO!!!
You put my comments in the catagory of a white supremist? You are lost & have no understanding of anything I have typed on this page.
“you can not be talked to intelligently”?
This is a website designed for people to express their opinions. My opinions are my FACTs OF LIFE. Disagreeing with your assessments & analogies, does not make me less intelligent. It just means I don’t AGREE with you.
Lily you need to realize that you are not as smart as you think you are.
OK, Jonte, nowhere did I say or insinuate Aaryn is misunderstood, & of course Aaryn’s doing damage control, wouldn’t you? But that doesn’t mean she’s not remorseful. I think that Candace, being in her situation, is a better judge of Aaryn’s character than we are. How can you even pretend to know what Candace thinks. It seems to me that she’s capable of thinking on her own. Candace is an outspoken person if she is being so polite as you say then why would she tell amanda there’s no place in Candy Land for her? That’s not polite,& people weren’t bashing Candice when Aaryn was tormenting her, & people didn’t think Candace was classless when Aaryn was tormenting. We all thought Aaryn was despicable & next to scum. Myself, I think Aaryn is trying to change. That’s what people do when they have self analytical skills. Aaryn doesn’t want to walk around the rest of her life w/ the reputation that she put on herself. Would you? No one is condoning what she did, but we’re willing to forgive (like Candace). And if she’s willing to change, we’re willing to support her. Isn’t that what we all want (for her to change)? Early on in the BB house I saw hate in Aaryn’s eyes. Now I see hurt and embarrassment, & a will to conform because she’s unhappy w/ herself (wonder why). It seems to me Jonte, that you don’t respect Lilly’s or Tessa’s opinions. And how can you know what Aaryn tells her mother. That’s just hearsay. And you aren’t Candace, and you don’t know what she thinks, so don’t pretend to think for her. Sorry for saying you’re classless. If the shoe fits, wear it. If it doesn’t, don’t.
GM said black people aren’t even in her species. She treated Candice like pure DIRT & you people were angry because Candice didn’t wanna vote for her.
with that reasoning,Sometimes I really do believe white people are the devil. You people are simply NUTS!
Against my better judgment, I just have to ask you a question because I think I must have missed an episode of BB.
You said “…you people were angry because Candice didn’t wanna vote for her.”
When did this happen? The only voting “for” someone that I remember was the final 3 and Aaryn was NOT in the final 3 but in the jury house. I did not like any of the final 3 and I also would not have wanted Aaryn there.
Was there a vote were Aaryn was one of the choices and Candice didn’t want to vote for her? I must have missed it.
And for the last time, I AM NOT SUPPORTING AARYN–I AM ONLY REPEATING WHAT CANDICE HAS SAID ABOUT HER AND I BELIEVE CANDICE IS NOT A LIAR.
One other thing, is Candice 50% devil since one of her parents was white?
I am still waiting for some enlightenment about when this vote took place and what it was all about.
Tessa, the vote comment was for Candice not supporting GM in the end. You read it wrong.
I did read it wrong, Todd. Thanks for the correction–I was wracking my brain trying to remember when that happened. I guess I had Aaryn on my mind because most of our discussion was about her but that is still no excuse for not being accurate.
BTW, I assume you have access to our e-mails. Lilly and I have talked about the possibility of our giving you permission to share e-mail addresses between the 2 of us if we tell you it is OK. Is it possible?
Yes, Todd, I would like to share email addresses with Tessa via you, if that’s doable.
Email sent to Tessa with your email address Lilly!
Thanks, Todd.
Classy lady you are Candice….so proud of you!
I don’t think that Candice played a great game. But then how could she? We can tell by how the rest of the HGs acted it can be very hard to keep your emotions in check, even if you’re not being targeted. I can’t say anyone other than Howard would have responded differently.
All season long I thought that the emotion that I was feeling toward Candice was pity. In hindsight, I realize that the real emotion I feeling was GUILT. I feel guilty that we as a society have not done a better job a teaching the next generation (Aaryn’s generation) that this type of behavior towards those that are different from you is not acceptable – not acceptable at all.
I read a blurb from an interview that Candice did after the show. She was asked how she dealt with what was going on in the house. I will paraphase her response. She said she dealt with it by eating. She said she entered the house as a 6 and left as a 10. She had to have her family send her something to wear for the finale.
I know that this is not the healthy way to deal with your problems. But when you can’t escape them how would anyone deal with them? I admire her for being honest. In fact, I think that was the most honest thing I heard/read from any of these HGs.
Mel, I can identify with those feelings. The widespread bullying that is going on is all based upon “us” and “them” and thinking somehow that “us” are better than “them”–bad grammar but I think the thought is right!
No need to apologize. I just re-read my entry and saw I have a few “oop”s” of my own. 🙂
Your thought was quite clear.
According to Elissa’s and Nick’s radio interview (found on Jokers.com.) the live feeds did not begin until a week after the show started. They said the first week was like “girls gone wild” with people flashing each other, jumping on beds and generally acting out. All calmed down when live feeds started. I have a feeling Elissa and Candace took more abuse than we saw, at least according to Elissa they did.
Jonte, I think whether race is involved or not, these days it’s unfortunate that so many people are capitalizing on bad behavior. Reality TV celebrates and rewards some really ugly behavior. I have a feeling that Candace knows exactly where Aaryn is coming from and isn’t fooled for a minute. But big change starts small. As my mom used to say “you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar”. And I don’t mean to trivialize your frustration. Nelson Mandella said it best and I’m paraphrasing here. People are not born hating. Hate is learned and if you can learn to hate you can learn to love instead. Candace is doing the right thing.
Amen to your statements about “reality” TV.
And a bigger “AMEN” to your last 3 sentences. Your whole post was well-stated but there was some profound wisdom in those sentences.
Anyone who sits in silence while someone is being victimized by a bully or a racist or someone with a foul mouth is just as guilty as the person who is doing the victimizing. I don’t care how worried you are about becoming a target. Simple rule for living a good life, “do what’s right”.
Amen!!!!!!
I know that being a really bad speller is no excuse, so I apologize for misspelling Candice…….over and over again.
I am with Candice on “Forgiveness”.
I agree with Candice also. Aaron is still a racist.
Did you hear what Candice said? Did you open your mind and really listen? She said Aaryn WAS IGNORANT BUT NOT A RACIST. I said I would agree with Candice and I do–she was the victim, the one who was hurt and therefore, I accept her opinion. As I said before, to me she is a shining example of what a Christian should be. Deal with every person as an individual and don’t assume he or she is incapable of seeing the light and changing. She was there in person with Aaryn (that is her name, not Aaron)–none of us was there, none of us has met Aaryn in person so if Candice says she has changed, then I accept her word on it. I didn’t see that any of the others who made awful remarks or jokes or whatever made any kind of sincere apology. It was all excuses such as “what I said was taken out of context” or “if I said something that offended someone, I am sorry.” There is no question that they offended us with their smutty talking, jokes about child porn, horrible made-up sex stories about Elissa, etc. etc. I do hope that some day they will understand how awful they were and TRULY repent and change. Like Aaryn, they each need their own personal Candice who can help them see how things really are and how much they did hurt people.
Also I firmly believe that we come in contact with the people we are meant to come in contact with–I believe it is all God’s plan and not just coincidence. believe he brings certain people into our lives so that we may learn what is true. We can learn from bad examples as well as good ones. I truly believe that God brought Candice into Aaryn’s life so she could really look at herself and learn that, as Candice said, all races are beautiful–we just need to get beyond the surface and see the child of God who is there–Candice was the means by which Aaryn was made to look at herself and see where she was ignorant and where she needed to change.
Tessa, I know no other way to say it except I agree with every word.
As I have said before, this season of BB was not just horrid; it was also instructional for anyone who cared to observe. I have never thought myself a racist – still don’t – but I learned some things this summer watching Candice and Howard especially. And I hope I am a better person for it.
Very good Tessa, very well said.
Thank you, garyr. I started wondering this afternoon if we are being “played” by a certain poster. Some of the statements that have been posted contradict each other or allude to things that were not on the CBS programming or on the live feeds and BBAD. Just a thought…
To many followers and they can’t think for theselves!!!!!
barbarab,
I agree.
Time to give it up girls. You’re talking to a wall. Good-bye Jonte. Racism works both ways, & you’re a hypocrite.
Why is everyone only remembering Aaron.. ??? I am sickin by her comments to Candice and Helen ( about the rice ) but com..on !! She was NOT THE ONLY ONE !! AMANDA , ANDY , SPENCER … AND EVEN GM.
..I Do not get it… I have been a fan since season 1… told my husband the very 2 nd episode of this bb15 , there is something very very wrong here !! THIS IS NOT THE BB I KNOW !! So sad !! But then again , look at today’s Society !! So sad..
I would agree with that statement. For some reason, CBS called out Aaryn and the rest seemed to be overlooked or shown brief moments of it. They all said terrible things while in the house and I think we should just try to move past it and hope for better next summer lol
Next summer has to be better–not sure it could be any worse.
I agree TODD.. I HOPE WE GET OUR BB BACK ! Next season.. 🙂
Sadly, hope I’m wrong but I think that after the exit interview with Aaryn, CBS decided they had struck ratings gold with all of the controversy. Julie seems to prove me right when in an interview she says they won’t change the screening process next year because these people are what “makes it real”. She insists on calling BB a social experiment while the rest of us see it as a game, one that should be played with skill, not malice.
Well, SuzyQ, if that’s true we may be losing a favorite summer pastime…. Or at least, I will.
SuzyQ, I saw that same info and I am afraid you are correct. I keep thinking we have seen the lowest TV can go but they haven’t reached the bottom yet. Of course, there are still people who believe TV, violent video games, internet porn, etc. etc. are just harmless pasttimes and we shouldn’t judge people who like them–we just need to keep up with the times. If nothing else, they “coarsen” society. And modern technology allows people to go online and be just as rude as they can be while claiming they have the “right” to do so and hiding behind the screen. Just because you have the right doesn’t make it right. As far as the networks go, the only thing to worry about is the ratings so, as bad as BB was this year, you can bet it will be worse next year. I have not been a regular every summer, but, like Lilly, this may have been my last BB.
Shell, I think most of us were just as disgusted with all of the ones you mentioned–it was just that in this interview, Candice really only talked a lot about Aaryn because she and Aaryn apparently did a lot of talking during the many days they were in the jury house. Candice even told Dr. Will that she and Aaryn had become friends.
It seems that Amanda made no effort to apologize–she probably is so delusional that she doesn’t believe she has anything to apologize for. She uses the excuse that she is a strong woman who isn’t afraid to speak her mind. I think Julie’s remarks to Aaryn really made an impression on her and that led to her spending time with Candice. And all of that was BEFORE she found out about her loss of a job or before she met the public relations people her mother hired. Remember she had no contact with the “outside world” until after the live finals Wed. night. As for the others, Andy and Spencer and GM gave the usual meaningless “if I said anything that hurt someone, I am really sorry” or they blame it on the fact that they were in such an unusual situation in the house that they acted in ways that they wouldn’t outside the house. Not that any of us believe that at all. I am just hoping that there are people who will not be afraid to tell them what we the public really think about their actions and their mistreatment of others. There have been lots of comments on this board about all of the people you listed and how disgusted most of us were with all of them.
Okay, Tessa, are you psychically stalking me? How is it that we post similar remarks at the SAME time?! Great minds….
Oh, and if you want some encouragement, watch Kaitlyn’s interview with Jeff. She was clearly holding back with her real opinion about the weasels who finished the game. And she repeatedly said she wished she had aligned with Elissa, and that Elissa surprised her by “putting some people in their place” and making some good game moves.
Kaitlyn was definitely a mean girl in the house, and I’m not positive she realizes how bad SHE was, but she does know that she and others misjudged Elissa, and if she can see that, maybe she can learn that she misjudges others too.
Wait a minute–I think I just heard the “Twilight Zone” music playing in the background 😉
It is kind of spooky! I did listen to Kaitlyn and loved what she said about Elissa. She is willing to admit that she made mistakes without making excuses to justify her behavior. The final 3 could learn some good lessons from her.
Uh oh, Tessa, I hate to say it, but we may be the last two posters on BBB right now… (and I don’t just mean at midnight Friday night). Evidently we also have similar sleeping habits!
Tomorrow is Saturday so no chance I will be called for a sub job! I am usually a night owl–my “vice” is reading well into the night but lately I have been spending way more time doing my reading one here–and loving it! Will say bye for now, however, as I am in the middle of a good mystery.
Todd’s right. I really don’t think this was the reason, but it’s almost like Julie got to confront Aaryn because Aaryn was the one who made a lot of comments about Helen and Asians.
And shell, if you count Todd writing at least 1-2 BBB columns per day for the 90 days of this season, then realize that most of the time, his posts had 50-100 comments from many of us – some regulars, some not – that’s a LOT of commentary. And believe me, we WORE ALL OF THOSE HGS OUT about their language, bullying, racism, etc., as it happened. Now, here, the last day or two of the season, many commentators have moved on and just a few are commenting. So you aren’t reading a real reflection of the opinions that most of us expressed all season. If you want some entertainment, go back and read some of THOSE days! Of course, be ready for your blood pressure to rise as you relive all the CRAP all over again!!
Shell, Lilly is so right — a lot of the regular posters said their goodbyes to this summer’s BB at the end of the final live show and have not been back to comment the last couple of days. Some were even so disgusted they didn’t even finish the complete session. Poor Todd had to stick it out–most of us have told him how impressed we are that he would wade through all that muck just to keep us up to date!
Lol.. that what was so weird before I.posted anything about the firing of several HG , I DID GO BACK AND READ.. and I wa like wow what a great group , I even said I wish I cou.d it earlier , being Ann fan since season 1… but a couple of bad apples got losses at me , and said I did.not know what I was talking about.. Lol… just cause I did not post on here did NOT mean I did not know what was going on , in this Season.. Lol ..
Meant bad apples got pissed at me.. Lol.. guess cause I was a new poster..
I was a newbie, too, but have found a wonderful group of people here who have become fantastic cyber friends. Every now and some one posts a few obnoxious “hit and runs” but they are in the minority, thank goodness.
Do you watch “Survivor”? Todd has already started posting about it and will continue through all the episodes right here on bigbigbrother.com so hope you will stick around!
Well, shell, Andy’s “firing” was in fact NOT a firing. He was a contract instructor/professor and he took a leave this fall to participate in BB. I think that lie spread SOOOOO fast on the web, and we debunked it here pretty quickly. You just mentioned it at a time when some of us here were tired of arguing about it.
The regulars here this summer were generally nice, intelligent DEBATERS. We don’t mind disagreement, but we don’t like hate and vitriol.
If we have one flaw it’s that we’re so used to talking in a flow of conversation that we forget some people pitstop in on occasion – like in the middle of a conversation – and we don’t remember that fact. Plus, there are some very outspoken people here, and no one speaks for everyone!
Lol.. and that is what I said… my very 1st post was about the ppl getting fired , AND MY WORDS WERE.. ANDY lied AGAIN the Dean was interviewed an he was actually NEVER employeed at his college except for a.sub.. that is the interview I saw with the Dean.. then I said , GM , AMANDA , Aaron , Were also getting fired .. my exact words were… FROM.WHAT I HAVE HEARD.. look its no.big deal.. except if it would have been a reg poster, it would have been no big deal.. that is my point.. there are sooo many sites but just cause your not a reg. Poster does not mean you should be treated badly , or you do not know what’s going on , on the show.. and I did thank YOU THE VERY FIRST POST..
Shell,
If you’ve been watching since season 1, for 15 years like me. Thats means you are not a child & you should be able to figure things out.
The media speaks about Aaron the most because Aaron is a TRUE racist. Its in her eyes. & smart people understand this. BB, Julie see Aaron as a educated beautiful woman who is ruining her life.
Gina Marie is a low class neanderstal. BB sees her as an uneducated thug.
Amanda is psycho, so whatever comes out of her mouth is non void.
TESSA.. NO I DO NOT WATCH IT , I WOULD LOVE TO BUT I HAVE WORK TBAT NIGHT AND DVD IS FILLED WITB OTHER SHOWS 🙁 … like I said I think Todd.did great.. an Lilly u step up cor.me.the very first post.. Thanks again
DAMN. SPELL CHECK IS SOOOO.SENSITIVE… LOL.. THANKS.LADIES..GOING TO SLEEP !
Knock knock.. whos there.. Tiger..Tiger who..Tiger being sick and Tiger of the Worldly Bull$hit.
Candice went through a lot putting up w/ some of those people. A lot of people didn’t like her defense mechanisms, but when you look at some of the other hg’s ,they were fine. She’s a forgiving person, & a good sport, there’s no place in Candy Land for you amanda.
