Big Brother 2014: Evel Dick Announces He Is HIV Positive

It was an emotional day for Big Brother fans, as we got some good and bad news along the way and some unanswered questions were finally given the proper attention. Evel Dick has been one of the most talked about HGs in Big Brother history and people always questioned him on why he left Big Brother 13 after just six days. He finally make the big reveal and that he has been living with HIV since 2011. Get the details below in our Big Brother 2014 spoilers!

Evel Dick and his girlfriend Stephanie Rogness-Fischer are appearing on VH1’s Couple Therapy and Evel Dick sat down with Dr. Jenn Berman to tell his big secret, which you can tell was not easy for him to do. Check out a clip from the show here:

So, with all the blood work and tests that were done when he went back for BB13, it was discovered that he was HIV+ and he left the show. He gave an interview with People magazine and he opens up about the situation: “They told me that something was wrong with my blood test. They had done two HIV tests. One had come back positive and the other had come back negative. When they told me, I just went numb. They had a car take me from CBS to my mother’s house. She was the first person I told.”

For me, this opens my eyes and makes me see Evel Dick in a whole new light and a light that I respect him and respect what he is doing with this disease and shining a light on it. He added: “Look, I get that I’m a reality-show villain. But for better or for worse, I have a platform. And I decided that it was time to just publicly say what I’m dealing with. On one hand, I’m doing this for myself: I don’t want to hide anymore. On the other hand, I hope it will remind viewers to get tested, practice safe sex, all those things we know in the back of our minds but maybe don’t do. After I told everyone on Couples Therapy, I had two production people pull me aside and say that they had gotten tested. I feel like I can do some good.”

For good or bad, he definitely got people talking and that is huge. People think HIV is no longer an issue, but this proves that it is. I give him major props for making his announcement and using this to spread the word. I wish him only the best of health and a lifetime of being a dick to all the future Big Brother HGs!
