- There will be TWO Head of Households each week (which is making us think Blood vs. Water will happen and one HoH from each side)?
- There will be four nominees on the chopping block each week!
- You may be the HoH, but that does not mean you are safe for the week! We will now have a new competition called “Battle of the Block” and it could put the HoH in danger of going home each week!
- Even more Interactive action coming to Big Brother fans and we can influence things big time, as Team America will happen! I want to know what this means!!!
To be honest, this all sounds great and is it next Wednesday yet???

I agree Todd. Sounds very interesting. We will sure see allot of back stabbing.
Sounds great to me, they needed to make some changes. Very excited for it to start and with all the new twists, even more so. Thanks Todd, you’re the best! 🙂
So does this mean that the 2 HOHs will battle each other for the last nom position? If it happens to be Blood vs Water, and an HOH from each side, then that should throw a kink into the nominating process. 4 people on the block each week should split the vote better instead of the usual “lets all vote the same” scenario. As far as Team America goes, i suspect they are taking a page from BB Canada and possibly letting us choose one of the noms…or possibly 2. I hope not because it affects the game too much. Of course that’s just a guess on my part and could mean something totally different. Can’t wait though. A week seems like an eternity waiting for it to start!!!
I am getting excited for the show again. I think I will get a neighborhood clan together and have a VV party
I was thinking the same thing Cat, that they were taking a page from BB Canada and can’t say I like the idea of letting the viewers vote either.
Two HOH’s? plus twists will test loyalty. I am going need my iMac with “numbers”
(Mac version of Excel) to spreadsheet all this. Does the stock market have a company that supports psychiatric help? We will need one with all this and I want to take a few bucks out of my Apple shares and put them there. Profiting from the woes of others should send me to hell. lol It sounds like fun, but I promised a mini thesis and that is going to be a challenge. I would like to see a “non official” player as a “plant” to snitch on EVERYBODY by secret “notes”. Another cute one would be a “phantom” sneaking in at night and placing live bugs in beds, worms in food, stealing clothes, etc so everyone would be blaming others! Too mean? I vote for PB&J victims actually getting “surf and Turf” in a secret room.
Loved it observerMan that would be a hoot.
I was with you 100% ObserverMan until the bugs in bed and worms in food suggestions – just can’t go along with that. Yuk!!!
HAHAHA Mary. As nasty as some of the players are they probably would not even know that they where in there.
So true Carol. I would expect things like that on Survivor but not BB.
Lol..as a matter of fact the stock market DOES have a company that supports psychiatric help. UHS (universal health services). Think we should buy stock before BB begins :)? Although i wouldn’t suggest you take your Apple shares and invest it in them. Too many allegations of false claims. Stick with Apple :). Instead of me doing spreadsheets, i wish they would put a ticker at the bottom of the screen (sticking with the stock market theme). The number of HOHs won, competitions won and number of slop victims would be easier to keep up with.
It should be called Survivor. Lots of egos sure, but tons of pain too.
Big Brother Survivor? I like it!
I like it too Mary. Hey Cat how do you keep up with all that.
My head is full of useless knowledge 🙂
HAHAHAHA I can not remember that. I need to get some memory pills.
BTW-Do we really know what is in that fast food we eat? I made a big mistake watching a TV show called “how it is made” a saw hot dogs!!! OMG. So a few high protein worms will be ok. Didn’t somebody use anothers toothbrush to clean the toilet?
Yes, Shannon used Hardys toothbrush to clean the toilet in season 2.
Sounds like something my ex wife would do, geeesh!
That toothbrush episode was disgusting. As far as what is in our food, I really don’t want to know. Please spare me, please don’t tell us ObserverMan ok?
Mary it is gross what is in hot dogs. I wont eat them now after I found out. So if you like them you are better off not knowing. Observman that is why she is your ex. Hang out on here with this great bunch.
I know about hot dogs. My Dad read about what went into them years ago and I haven’t had one since but as for everything else I don’t know and really don’t want to know.
I like to live dangerously. I know what’s in them and i don’t care. 🙂
You’re hilarious Cat! Not me, I’m very picky – meat and potatoes gal.
I will catch up with you all tomorrow. I am taking the grandkids out for Japanese today for dinner.
Enjoy!!!
Have a wonderful dinner Carol and fun with the grandkids 🙂
One thing that changes will hopefully bring, at last, is some game play! Maybe this season – if they can’t give us high-calibre people, they’ll keep them hopping so much they don’t have time to lay around and feel each other under the blankets all day!!
Any news when we’ll get to see the HGs?!??!??!?!
I’m going on vacation this Saturday-Saturday. I plan to find a TV and watch the season premiere if possible and check in with you all afterward…. Still strongly considering the live feeds, but just can’t make myself pull the trigger without seeing the HGs first!!
Have a great vacation Lilly! As long as it’s not camping, there should be TVs wherever you’re staying.
Enjoy your vacation Lilly…I will have all the houseguests email you personally and they will let you know what is happening.
I don’t like the Team America theme, but I’ve never liked America having a lot of influence in the house anyway. It’s okay to do it once in a while, but not each week. Besides, it takes some of the excitement away when you do it all the time. A sneak attack is fun, but when the HG expects it each week it takes the thrill out of it. I do like the fact that the HOH isn’t safe. It’s irritating when an arrogant person wins HOH and they walk around the house like they’re better than all the other HG. Hopefully, this will keep the HOH from acting like a bigheaded bully. But, I am so excited to get this party started next week! I’m sure it’s going to be another wild and crazy ride, once everything begins to play out in the house…hahaha
I agree, every time they win HOH they do get to become a bully.
Why they.wont.show us the csst
Bully! I admit that some of them strut their stuff as it is in Survivor, but
I do not see ALL of them any less cocky with the twist. Many HOH’s walked head high
and holier than thow, only to be bounced out the following week. BLINDSIDES I adore!
Also, Team America is overdue to be more often as the contestants can get a look at how good, nice, stupid, mean, ignorant, pleasing, etc; they are coming across to the paying public. (now and in future games) A much greater assessment of their personal worth and character than the judgement of the few within BB. Last season is likely the best example of that. It was pathetic to see individuals that were oblivious as to what people really thought of them.
What proud set of parents for some that saw there child acting as stupidly and openly
“raw” and they did not know what people were saying and laughing at until the game was over. That exit interview with Aaryn was classic! She had no idea she was thought of in that way. I call that a “class act Julie blindside” lol.
With all the new technology, it was imminent that the public viewers would be a part of it. In the future “some” of the public could be IN BB via virtual reality. Would that not be a complicated scenario.
JMHO of course.
The game was originally developed to see how power structure would develop withing a close knit group of people without outside stimuli. Sort of “Lord of The Flies” type scenario. They are not supposed to know how pleasing/displeasing they are to the public. This negates outside stimuli. It causes house guests to react to each other based on public opinion. And not rely on their own perception and strategies. I’m not a fan of Team America because the original concept is lost. Of course the game evolves as does technology. But i think the basic premise should be kept. A true assessment of a persons character is not possible if the “rawness” of their nature is kept hidden because of perceptions by the fans. Last year was not pretty for sure. But we DID see what happens when a person is not politically correct in words/actions because society deems it. I believe it became a learning experience. A perfect example of society claiming all inclusiveness when it obviously is not.
Good points Cat: I agree with it all, except for one small detail. Confining a human as these shows do seems to me to be somewhat cruel. It is as blatant as the Gladiators in the coliseums of ancient times. It is easier to “see” in Survivor with the emotional and physical breakdowns for various reasons, but BB is a “silent killer” of emotion and brings out the worst, the best, and everything I between that a person has. I would love to see demographics of personality profiles and how they faired in BB. I recall often seeing a hard core participant break down like jelly after a time or incident that hit them where it hurt.
we all wear masks, most do not realize it.
This season will be interesting for sure; another experiment using people and
NOT in Area 51. lol
Gladiators of ancient times were trained willingly or chosen from the slave ranks. How can it be cruel to the HGs when they themselves chose to sign up knowing the premise? And also knowing the end game was half a mil. And isn’t the “break downs” they suffer the same as in real life when an injustice occurs? I would agree that the break down would be heightened because of the confinement (no where to run). But it still would occur. The “silent killers” of emotion is exactly why i believe they should avoid public interference. The cast would end up being boring if emotion were not on display. Good OR bad emotions. Although i tend to think there is no such thing as “bad” emotions…just people that are simply misinformed (or uninformed).
Cat:
First up you make a good conversationalist.
The “key” word that skews the premise is “knowing”. I do not believe they do know.
I list:
A.- Money and potential fame is a poison that few can handle, let alone survive.
(it’s more likely that you’ll be struck by lightening in your lifetime than become famous. I
think that’s around the 1 in 200,000 territory.)
B.- The money is a given for near all personalities.
C.- Living confined is not the same as living free while being afflicted with any sort of breakdown.
D.- BB participants are willing and chosen from the ranks. IMHO the TV is the coliseum and the greed for money is the driving weapon of choice . We are the applauding observers that cannot wait to see somebody get wacked. (nothing better than a few accidents in a car race
to make it interesting)
E.- A big hole in the entire premise of BB as we know it, is the “fixing/leading/suggestive” controversy and its potential. THIS is where the public interference (actually public opinion) can hold in check to a point.
Lest we forget this is entertainment at near ANY cost. Money dictates.
I agree with the fact that they are not aware of what being on Big Brother entails. They THINK they know. I equate it to becoming a parent. You think that you’re ready for the responsibility but it becomes more of a challenge than you bargained for. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. And if you opt for it then you must take the good with the bad. Same with the house guests. They know there will be times that are challenging…but it’s their choice and theirs alone. I view money and fame in the same way. Few of us can really say what we would do with them until they become a reality. I guess what i’m trying to say is we have to make choices in life with the limited knowledge that we have…even if others try to tell us differently with their experiences. We think that somehow we will be the exception to the rule. In the end…experience becomes the teacher that tells us we are not. Or at least very few of us are. Lol…i’m definitely one of those observers that like to see a good whacking. But that relates to my statement that experience is the teacher. Like a child, if you’re never told no, you become entitled. And that’s a characteristic that annoys me :). As for fixing/leading/suggesting….i don’t think they are forced to go the way that might be suggested by the diary room. You can lead a horse to water….., Don’t touch that hot stove….but you do it anyway. The only power suggestion holds is the one to make you think. But they are free to make their own choice. Even if that means getting burned.
Heard we have a minister in the new group. that would make a very interesting “showmance” lol
