We started tonight’s episode of Big Brother off with a look at the Cookout celebrating their historic accomplishment of guaranteeing that the winner of Big Brother 23 will be a person of color for the first time ever.

We then take a look back at the Double Eviction and we get a behind-the-scenes look at what happened after the POV was played and Hannah needed to pick a replacement nominee. Kyland is clearly frustrated that he is going to be on the block since Azah and Tiffany haven’t seen the block all season. He feels that it should be one of them going up.

We get to watch the members of the Cookout chat a little before the HOH competition and trying to feel each other out. We also got a look at Hannah trying to do some damage control with Kyland after putting him on the block. He tells her that he doesn’t hold anything against her for putting him up. She apologizes to him, but he tells her that it’s fine and the apology is unnecessary.

Derek tells Xavier that his target this week is going to be Tiffany this week and if for some reason Tiffany comes down, Kyland will go up. After his talk with Derek, Xavier talks to Kyland and Kyland offers Xavier a F2 deal and Kyland tells us that he wants to go to the end with the best. He has always said that he doesn’t want the win to be handed to him, he wants to have to work for it.

It’s time for the Head of Household Competition! Since Hannah won the HOH during the DE, she can’t play, but she is also hoping that she isn’t on anyone’s target list. She says she would hate to be the first member of the Cookout to head to the Jury house.

In this week’s HOH competition, the HGs will have to grab an egg and weave it up a wire maze. They have to then send it down a ramp and knock down the three power levels are the end of the ramp. The first HG to knock down the power levers will win this week’s HOH. Derek took an early lead in this competition, but then Kyland knocked down his second lever putting him in the lead. Xavier finally knocked down his first lever and it hoping to catch up to Kyland.

Derek manages to tie it up by knocking down his second lever. Kyland says that he feels like sitting back and letting Derek win it even though he would be the first to take a shot at the Cookout. Kyland doesn’t feel like the shot would be aimed at him. Derek accidentally drops his egg and instead of throwing the comp, Kyland goes ahead and takes the win.

We get a look at Kyland after the HOH and he is talking about how the HOH room key feels so much heavier this time around. We then see as Derek and Kyland chat and Derek is clearly upset and frustrated that he didn’t win it. Kyland then talks to Xavier and tells him that his plan is to put Tiffany and Hannah up and Hannah can win the Veto, but he would prefer that Xavier wins it. Kyland says that he would rather not have to put Azah up if he can help it.

We then get a look at Kyland’s one-on-one with Tiffany, with who he has a F3 deal along with Hannah. Kyland asks her who her ideal F4 would be? Tiffany tells him that she thinks that Derek and Xavier should go first. She tells Kyland that she doesn’t want to compete against Xavier at the end and tells Kyland that if Xavier makes it to F2, he wins no matter who he is sitting next to.

Now it’s time for Hannah and she offers a deal to Kyland. She tells him that if she isn’t on the block, she will vote whatever way he wants to in order to ensure that his target goes. He asks Hannah what scenario she would feel comfortable next to on the block? She tells him that if she is sitting next to Azah, Derek, or Xavier, she will go this week. She tells Kyland that ultimately, anyone sitting next to Xavier would go.

It is time for the Nomination Ceremony and Kyland tells us that he is choosing between two different moves. Sticking it out with Tiffany and Hannah or sticking with Xavier. He decides to nominate Tiffany and Hannah this week and tells them that this decision has nothing to do with a loss of respect or love. It has to do with a loss of trust. Kyland says that Hannah is likely to win this Veto and he put her up to ensure that she uses it on herself.
