Guest Post: BBB’s Janet Taylor Book Cover revealed!!
|Hi guys!!!!
It’s Janet, your old Big Big Brother mama, here to say hello!
First I just want to say how much I miss ya’ll, and writing for BBB full time. Some of you long-time readers may remember that I was the original author of our fantastic site.
Two years ago, I ‘retired’ to pursue my life-long dream of writing Young Adult fiction. But I left you in the absolute BEST of hands, because Todd is simply AMAZING!! I read his updates every day, and just like you, I can’t wait to hear his thoughts on this upcoming season! (Come ON!! Get started already, CBS!!)
(BTW–Looks like it’s gonna be a DOOZY!!)
Some exciting things have been happening for me, and before the season starts, I wanted to pop in and give you a little update. 🙂
Last fall, I signed a very nice deal with NYC publisher, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, for my debut Young Adult Time Travel series, INTO THE DIM, which will hit bookstores (and Amazon, etc.) on March 1st, 2016!! A few days ago, the gorgeous cover was revealed on the Fiction site, YABooksCentral.com. You all mean so much to me, that I just had to share my good news!
Thank you so much for being part of my life, and here’s to a KICKASS Big Brother 2015 Season!
And without any more of my yapping….Here it is:
INTO THE DIM
In Hope Walton’s small town, being the “homeschooled girl” with crippling phobias doesn’t exactly endear her to her adoptive dad’s perfectly blond, perfectly southern family. But when her mom is killed in a natural disaster thousands of miles from home, Hope’s secluded world crumbles. Foisted off on an aunt she’s never met, Hope travels to Scotland where she soon discovers her mom was more than a brilliant academic. A member of a secret society of time travelers, Hope’s mom is alive, though currently trapped in the twelfth century, during the age of King Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine. Now Hope must conquer her fears and travel back the a brutal, medieval world to rescue her mom before she’s lost for good.Along the way, Hope will learn more family secrets, and meet a mysterious boy who could be vital to setting her mother free . . . or the key to Hope’s undoing.
Janet B Taylor lives in such a small town in Arkansas that if you happen to sneeze when you pass by, you’ll totally miss it. (Cause, you know, you can’t sneeze with your eyes open. For real–try it–it’s impossible)
Book One of her YA novel series, INTO THE DIM, debuts March 1st, 2016 from publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt.
Janet’s a reader/fan first and a writer second. For four years she authored web content for the mega fan site, BigBigBrother.com, and is a contributing member of the Historical Novel society and the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. She lives with her fantastic husband, two hilarious sons, and Dorda the diabetic dog who won’t win any beauty contests, but has a “nice personality”.
For you writers and/or book lovers out there–it would mean the world to me if you wanted to add INTO THE DIM to your Goodreads list! And if you’re interested in reading the book SOON!!!! I’d love it if you entered the giveaway on the cover reveal to win an Advanced Reader Copy!!
Miss You ALL!! And Here’s to Big Brother 2015! May it be the best yet!!!

Wow, this sounds very interesting. I’ll be watching for it!
Congratulations Janet! I can’t wait to read it. I like those type of stories. I’m super impressed that Rysa Walker commented about your book. I’ve actually read some of her works. She is good. I know I will definitely be pre ordering your book as soon as ordering opens. Maybe you can send us an update when the pre order time is close.
We’ve missed you a lot, but as you said; Todd is amazing and has taken excellent care of us. He’s become our BB Bro!
Hopefully now you will get a little more time to chat with us here about BB this season 🙂
Yay Janet!!!! Can i get an advanced, signed by the author copy?? 🙂 🙂 It may be young adult fiction but sounds very intriguing for this over the hill, mystery seeking, book loving, card carrying fan of yours. Very proud of you mama 🙂
And by the way….The description of Dorda, your diabetic dog, is the exact description i use for myself when asked. :).
Cat has a good point. I would love a signed copy! How can we make that happen? Or if you will be in our areas we can come to a book signing!

Oh SUSAN!! Like I could ever forget you!!! I miss you too, and I’m so glad you’ve got such a fabulous guide taking you all through this crazy, addictive show! Thank you so much, and I’d LOVE for you to have a book…SIGNED of course! 😉
Congrats Janet, and best wishes for a HUGE success!!! It looks fascinating!
Janet,
I only started watching BB and reading these posts after you left but I naturally have heard your name a lot on here–it is great now to have a face to go with the name! I was a school librarian for many years and also spent 5 years as the children’s (and teens) librarian in our local public library and your book looks like a real winner! We definitely need good YA books to appeal to all the kids out there who don’t think it is cool to read anything but the texts on their phones. I could describe myself somewhat like BigBrotherCat did, LOL! Definitely over-the-hill but still addicted to good books, especially mysteries. Best wishes on your book launch–and, I am just down the road from San Antonio so it would be great if they could schedule you to hold a book-signing there.
Good to “see” you, Tessa!
Ditto with a capital D and a capital ITTO 🙂
Looking forward to “seeing” all of you again! And looking forward especially to reading your posts. 🙂
And back-atcha!
Hi Tessa!
Great to meet you! And let me tell you that I respect librarians SO much!! You guys have a hard job these days, getting kids to love books the way they used to! I will tell my publicist what you said and I SOO hope I can come down your way when the time comes. I love San A!!
Hope it does work out–I love San Antonio, too!
Hi Janet, The cover IS indeed gorgeous. I must say your introduction to the book and the compelling reviews from your fellow authors has left me utterly intrigued! I want more, I can’t wait to read the book! I’ve added “Into The Dim” to my must read list.
