We started the episode off with Jeff in his garage explaining how this night was going to go. We will watch the EOE castaways battle for their spot back in the game first! Here we go!

EOE Battle Back:

The EOE castaways will be attached to a rope where they will have to work their way through an obstacle course. They will then have to dig up rope runs to create a rope ladder. Once they get across they will have to sink two balls into a table puzzle.

Four castaways will start at the pole for the first advantage. Natalie will also not have to dig for her ropes and one-third of her ladder is already built for her because she bought three advantages total. Natalie falls a little behind, but once she gets to her rope ladder, she gains a lead while the other castaways are digging up their ropes for their ladder.

Wendell is the first one to get to the bag with his table maze balls and starts untying the bag. He gets to his table maze first, while Boston Rob, Yul, Natalie, and Parvati get to their bag. Wendell sinks his first ball, Natalie, Rob, and Yul get to the table and work on sinking their balls. Natalie sinks her first and she and Wendell are tied. Tyson drops his first one and is still in this! Natalie sinks her second ball and earns her way back into the game after being the first member of Edge of Extinction!

When they get back to camp, Natalie tells everyone that the way everyone has made it seem when they get to the EOE is that Tony is calling all the shots and running the game. She isn’t wrong.

Immunity Challenge #1

The castaways will have to run through an obstacle course collecting bags of puzzle pieces. The first one to get through and get their puzzle together will win Immunity! All of the castaways get to their tables and start working on their three-tiered puzzle. Michele is the last person at her table, but the first one to get her first tier done. Natalie is right behind her. Sarah gets her first tier done third while Michele gets her second-tier done. Michele manages to make the biggest comeback of the season and wins Immunity!

Back at camp, Natalie’s biggest play is to try and work with Michele and Michele is game. They come up with a plan to try and shake up the game. Michele goes back to Ben and Tony to try and throw them off. Michele tells Tony that Natalie is going to vote for him to try and flush out his idol. Sarah is trying to convince Tony that Natalie doesn’t have an idol, she thinks that she is close enough to Natalie that she would have told Sarah if she had an idol. As we know, she does have an idol and plans to play it to save herself.

First Tribal Council

There is a lot of talk about Natalie coming back and sharing information with them about how the jury members are saying. Sarah talks a lot about gender biases within the game and how women can’t play the game as hard as the men do because they are seen in a different light when they do. It is time to vote! Jeff tallies the votes and tells them that if anyone has a hidden immunity idol, now would be the time to use it. Natalie uses hers and Tony tells everyone that he told them she had one. Tony and Ben play their idols too. No votes for Natalie, Ben, or Tony will count. Here are the votes:

  • Natalie
  • Natalie
  • Natalie
  • Natalie
  • Ben
  • Ben

They have to revote, they can’t vote for Michele because she won immunity. Natalie, Ben, and Tony are also off-limits because they played idols. Denise and Sarah are the only ones they can vote for. Denise and Sarah can’t vote because they can only vote for each other. If there is a tie, they can not go to rocks so Denise and Sarah will face off in a fire-making challenge. Here are the votes

  • Denise
  • Denise
  • Denise

With three votes, Denise is voted out first tonight.

Back at camp, Tony goes on the hunt for a new immunity idol but comes up empty-handed. When the sun starts coming up, everyone gets up and starts searching for the idol. Natalie ends up finding it!

Immunity Challenge #2

The castaways will race through a series of obstacles and collect a key. The key will unlock a bag with two sandbags in it. They will then have to land them on a platform. The first to get both their sandbags on the platform will win Immunity! Ben and Natalie are the first to get to their sandbags. Tony and Sarah are right behind them. Michele gets to hers last. Ben gets one bag on, Tony gets his first one, Tony then gets his second one and guarantees his spot in Final 4!

When they get back to the camp, Natalie and Michele talk about trying to get Sarah on board with voting out Ben. Tony goes to his spy nest and Sarah brings Natalie to the well to talk to her so Tony can spy on it. Sure enough, Natalie shows Sarah that she has an idol, and Tony sees it. Tony tells Sarah that they need to get Natalie out. Natalie and Michele hope to get Ben out tonight, but Natalie and Michele know that Michele is now the target. Especially since Sarah knows Natalie has an idol.

Ben and Sarah talk at camp and Ben tells Sarah if she needs to vote for him to save her game and to build her resume, then that’s what she needs to do. Ben gets emotional and tells her that she has to go on and win it for both of them. Sarah doesn’t want to vote Ben out but knows that she has to make a move if she plans to win this and she’s going to have to do it without Tony.

Second Tribal Council

There is some talk about how this game forces them to scrutinize themselves. Sarah and Ben talk about how they always focus on themselves at their worst and kind of push aside the good they do throughout the game. Ben talks about how he went into this with the goal of coming out a different person than the last time. Sarah talks about how this Tribal is the last time they write someone’s name down and it’s really starting to become an “every person for themselves” kind of game. It’s time to vote! Jeff tallies the votes and tells them that if anyone has a hidden immunity idol, now would be the time to use it. Natalie uses her idol for herself. Here are the votes:

  • Ben
  • Michele
  • Ben
  • Michele
  • Ben

Ben is voted out and sent to Jury. He gives Sarah a hug and tells her that he loves her before getting his torch snuffed by Jeff.

Final Immunity Challenge

It’s our favorite final Immunity Challenge! The castaways will have to put a ball in a spiral track and when it gets to the bottom, they will have to catch it and put it back in. At even intervals, they will add a ball. If their ball drops, they are eliminated. They add a ball and everyone is going strong. It’s time to add ball number three! Tony is first out. They add ball number four into their shute. Sarah is eliminated after dropping her ball leaving Natalie and Michele still in it. They drop their fifth ball in the shute. Michele drops her ball which means Natalie wins the final Immunity Challenge of the season!

Final Four Tribal

They talk about how much it meant for Jeff to put the Immunity necklace around her neck at the final challenge. Sarah gets emotional when she thinks about the possibility of her needing to go up against Tony in fire. Michele tells Jeff that if she had a choice, she would want to go up against Tony because she thinks that Tony stands the best shot of winning. Natalie picks Michele to go to with her to Final 3 leaving Tony and Sarah to battle it out in fire!

Tony Vs Sarah Fire-Making Challenge

The first person to get a decent flame is Tony and he keeps it going and starts building around it. Meanwhile, Sarah gets a bit of a flame going too and starts building around hers. They are both right behind the other. Sarah’s flame gets up to her rope, but she starts to smother it with her husk. Tony is building his back up and takes the lead. Sarah’s flame builds back up, but Tony’s flame burns through his rope first and he wins the fire-making challenge! Leaving Tony, Natalie, and Michele in the Final three on Survivor: Winners at War!

Back at camp for their final morning, the final three enjoy their breakfast. They then head to their final Tribal Council to convince the jury why they deserve to win Survivor season 40!

Final Tribal Council

It is torrentially downpouring during the final Tribal Council. They talk about the Outwit part of the game first. Yul asked each of them to fill in the blanks about how they each outwitted each of them. Denise asks them about their missteps:

  • Natalie tells them that she thinks that her biggest misstep was focusing on one part of the game too early which ultimately got her voted out on night 2. Natalie is asked about why she went back to camp and tell them about what was being talked about when it came to Tony and she tells them that it was a game move. Rob tells her that he respects that, but doesn’t like that she isolated everyone the week before the battle back.
  • Michele talks about how some of her pre-existing relationship with Wendell put a huge target on her back, but she still survived every shot made against her. Michele is asked to explain her outwit because she played a very different game and she told them that it was just trying to keep the target off her back.
  • Tony talks about how he made bonds with every one of them throughout the game. Nick asked about why he blindsided him and Tony mentions that he only did that because he heard Nick was planning to blindside him. Jeremy mentioned how Tony blindsided him too, but Tony told him that it was all game and it wasn’t personal. Tony is asked about how he was able to blindside people without them feeling burned by him and he tells everyone about his spy nest.
  • Most of them talk about their wins and how important it was for them to win those Immunity Challenges when it comes to the outlast part of the game. Rob asks Natalie why she didn’t take on Tony herself in the fire-making challenge and she tells Rob that she knows that wasn’t the optimal position for her and she felt that breaking up that alliance was her best move. They talk about the EOE and how it helped or hurt their game.

They are each given a chance to tell the Jury why they think they are most deserving of the win. The jury congratulates each of them and tells them how hard they have made this decision for them. They give the F3 a standing ovation and then head to vote! Here are the votes:

  • Tony
  • Natalie
  • Natalie
  • Tony
  • Natalie
  • Tony
  • Natalie
  • Tony

With nine votes, Tony has won Survivor: Winners at War! Congratulations to Tony! After looking at the rest of the votes, Tony got all but the four votes for Natalie. Michele got no votes from the Jury.
