He put Danielle up and now they’ll vote out the big, bad threat Jenn.

That’s right– Shane succumbed to the wiles of Janelle’s crew and ended up taking Ashley down, replacing him with Frank.

Janelle, of course, is thrilled to death– cause not only does she save one of her peeps– but she also got to burn her (sometimes) arch-nemesis, Boogie.  Boogie didn’t really give them the reaction they were hoping for– and maintained a cool head, instead of giving them the blow-up they were hoping for.

With Danielle as the tie-breaker, expect her to get LOTS of attention and courting this week, (which she will eat-up, btw).  Boogie’s already started working on Dan. Wonder if it’ll stick..

STAY TUNED– for the ramifications— Cause it’s MAJOR!   And will have long-reaching consequences,especially with the possible (shyah-right..you can bet on it–it’s happening) Entry of the Coaches into the game.

But this is a new house, and the first week’s eviction could be pivotal to the rest of the game.

The Branelle alliance is showing the first cracks, with Willie still pushing to keep his bromance Frank safe–even though Joe whipped them all into a frenzy when he told the group at an alliance meeting that Frank intimated that Boogie’s crew would go after Willie and Shane once they were in power.

Brit is standing by her man, while Janelle is pushing hard for Frank to go. On one hand, it’s smart, strategically, to get rid of the biggest physical threat. A move which also put the hurt on the wily Boogie. Jani’s personal vendetta against Boogie is causing her to push to do whatever is needed to “get him.” I wonder if it could be her downfall at some point?  On the other hand, taking Dan’s best player–and leaving him with only Danielle–basically takes him out of the game.

On a lighter note- it was date-night in the Big Brother 14 house. The HG’s served as wait-staff to wee Ian and his date, Ashley. Poor, awkward Ian gave a pretty good show for his part and Ashley was a very good sport.

And for the guys– There was lots of bubble-bath-ing going on. While Britney went solo- Janelle and Jojo {who seems to be slightly put-out that Shane is paying more attention to Danielle than to her- and says she can get any guy she wants. That she could “take him (Shane) from her (Danielle), if she (Jojo) wants to.} had double the fun.

There was a bit of a blow-up last night on people not cleaning up after themselves, and with the tension mounting between Janelle and Britney’s group over this week’s eviction- you better STAY TUNED.. It was a night of fun, fellowship and secret scheming in the  Big Brother 14  house last night. Just another day in paradise. But how long can it last? As we all know, the first couple of weeks in the BB house is always like this. An sharp intake of breath before the crazy comes out.

But while the Newbies played Kum-ba-ya in the backyard, the  Mentors never stopped their plotting. These guys know that no matter how much you pledge everlasting friendship in the house…It’s about the money, yo.

Some of the newbies are crossing the faction borders, invading into enemy territory. Is is infiltration, or defection?  Willie continues his deepening friendship with Frank, promising his safety in this week’s eviction. Brit and Janelle still aren’t happy about it, though. They wonder–with Frank’s obvious physicality and likeability–if it’s not a pivotal mistake to get rid of him while they can. This would also hurt Boogie’s team, and be a first step on their long-term goal of getting rid of him.

 Boogie’s totally aware of this, and is doing his best to counter. He’s aware of Janelle’s contempt for him- and is playing on that. Janelle hates him. Says “Booger” is jealous of her popularity with the fans. She tells Brit this in the HOH bathroom, while the two complain that they don’t have their maids to clean up after them, like they do at home.  *clears throat*

Out there on his own is Dan and his fragment of a team. What do you think?? Did Dan blow it in the draft? What was he thinking? Was his plan to pick up weak-looking players to float to the end?  No one really understands, but if he loses Kara this week, his chances are slim to none.

Brit and Janelle speculated more on when they’d “enter the game.” FYI-If that happens, it will change the dynamics completely. Do you like this option? Do you want to Coaches to enter the game?

If we haven’t mentioned one of your faves…Jenn.Ian. Joe.Wil. Jojo…here are a few tidbits on the less flamboyant HG’s.

Well, last night Brit, Wil and Kara gave Ian a session on ‘how to date’ that was hilarious. Joe is busy cooking day and night, and seems to get irritated if people don’t want to eat what he fixes.  Jenn is mostly in wall-flower mode. And I predict the abrasive Jojo will be the first HG to blow up. She is 100% hard-core New Yorker who ‘don’t take crap from nobody’. It’s gonna happen folks–and soon. Remember you heard it here first.

PS- Is there something blooming between Danielle and Shane?? Hmmm. what do YOU think? Shane seems to be the only person in the house who likes the “kindergarten teacher.” Everyone else is sick of her negativity and sloppiness. Even her partner Kara seems done with her.

UPDATE: Ok- appears as if they’ve begun the POV– at appx 12:10 BBT POV’s historically take a long time- so stay tuned. We’ll have the results as soon as they’re in!  (PS- the VERY last thing I heard before they cut- is Brit tell Willie that if he was going to throw the POV to Frank, not to make it too obvious. She is obviously not happy about it, but like I said…Willie’s going his own way)

And it IS fresh, folks. We gotta give thanks to those Big Brother genuises out in Cali- those titans of television who’ve been snoozing on the job for the last couple of seasons. This twist is…dare I say it?….the BEST one we’ve had in recent Big Brother memory.

Now first things first, before I tell you about that “sand-line” from the title.

Who’s with whom? The premiere was so dang-blasted phenomenal, you might’ve been too psyched up to pay close attention. Well… that’s what Auntie Bigbigbrother is here for.

As we suspected, the new season’s Mentors (or Coaches-to use the venacular Julie C used) picked their teams in an almost brutal schoolyard-type pick. If you’ve ever been one of those kids left digging your toe in the dirt while the cool kids got selected, then you know how Jenn, Joe, Jodi and Jojo felt.. (Hey! What’s uncool about having a J name anyway?)

In any case, here was the end result:

Good picks. She’s got two athletic boys- Willie and Shane–and (in Willie) someone who’s not afraid to do what needs doin’.  But Brit may have bitten off more than she can chew with the abrasive Jojo, and of course… “the Hantz.” Brit wants to run the show- and boot off Willie’s bff Frank. Willie’s biting the bit on that one, so we’ll have to see what happens with the POV today.

At first glance, this is a pretty good selection. You’ve got an Athlete in Frank, a Brain in Ian, and a Off-Beat in Jenn.  If you add in Boogie as a ‘Popular,’ you’ve got a nice mix. But Frank’s on the block and in trouble, and wee Ian seems to be having difficulty fitting in. Boogie’s pulling out all his tricks, but it’s gonna be a tough road.

Janelle went another way, selecting some of the quirkiest folks in the house. With Wil, you get physical strength though, and Joe’s feeding everyone–(though apparently, he’s used up WAY too much food already and the HG’s may starve the last few days.) Also- fruit-loop Ashley had hurt her back. She’s on pain-killers, which makes the already spacey spray-tanner even more ‘out-there.’  But you can never count Janelle out. She’s a scrapper and with her tight (for now) alliance with Brit and her team, she’s looking pretty good.

Oh Dan…This most gentlemanly winner of BB10 knows how to get it done, but he’s already down a player (Jodi, lost in the premiere) and his other two–Danielle and Kara– are not the most cut-throat of the bunch. With Kara on the block, he’s in serious trouble here. Let’s hope he can work a little magic, as we know he can, and keep his butt out of the frying pan.

Today’s the POV comp. Frank and Kara will be playing for their Big Brother 14 lives, while Willie, Wil, Shane and Danielle will likely not want to rock the boat this early on by changing Willie’s noms, thereby incurring the wrath of Britney.

Ok then- here we go– Here’s the first Spoiler Post of the Season– the first time we learn what’s REALLY been happening in the house.

First–the logistics–Apparently, the Mentors are NOT sleeping with the rest of the House, but have their own suite off the HOH room.

When the LIVE FEEDS came up- Once things settled out– we started out with Boogie in the HOH room with our first BB14 HOH Willie, pleading for his man, Frank’s life.

Yep- Seems like Frank and Kara are nominated. 

Jojo is the POV Host in the POV competition tomorrow.

There is a definite division in the house- with Janelle and Brit against Boogie and Dan, and they are working to get their respective team members on board.

Willie is friends with Frank, and doesn’t want to see him go. But Britney is aggravated with him, and wants Frank gone- to put a dent in Boogie’s game. They don’t find Dan or his group much of a threat at this time, and they have a point. Dan, with only Danielle and Kara left, doesn’t have much oomph behind him, especially after the agonizing decision to cut Jodi loose on premiere night.

There was a bit of DRAMA tonight, when the girls (minus Kara and Danielle) had a girl’s drinking night- and Wil went all diva-pissed because Jojo (who Janelle and Brit call “abrasive”) drank some of his booze. Ashley has hurt her back- and is looped out (oh, it’s something to see, man) on pain-killers.

All the housguests are astonished that Ian is “acting like a normal human being” now that the feeds are on. Up in the HOH a bit ago- Boogie and Willie asked him if he was ‘intimidated’ by them? He said he was.. a bit..

So this is where we stand at the moment.. STAY TUNED for LOTS more Big Brother 14 news and updates.

Before we begin this Big Brother 14 magical journey…This summer treat above all others… Let’s chat for a sec about the Mentor-Twist. We heard it for ourselves. Julie confirmed that the Mentors are going to be playing their own game. What that will be, and how much they’re playing for.. is still a bit of a mystery, though it appears that the Mentors cannot be voted off, that they’ll stay in the game until their “Mentees” are voted off. It’s brilliant, actually, because it keeps the Vets on the show longer, and gives them incentive to truly work with the folks they team up with.

Don’t delay any longer! You only have a few hours till the launch of the…..

So–Let’s think about the attributes of these past HG’s.

• Calm, charismatic Dan. Will his coaching skills take his team to the top?
• Vivacious, flirtatious, two-timer Janelle. Will she light firecrackers under hers?
• Smooth, everyone’s buddy- Boogie. He’s never played the game without a tight alliance. Will that experience pull his Newbies together?
• Fiesty, fiery Britney–Will she teach her team to learn from her mistakes and be careful who they trust?

Psstt—I predict Brit and Janelle will clash early on- and if their teams follow suit– we are in for one HECK of a season!

Will you lie, cheat, sell out your ‘best friend?’  Will you say “integrity-shminegrity” it’s just a freaking game? Or, will you be a bright shining example of ‘good guys can finish first?’

Tomorrow, July 12th at 9/8 Central, Will Rainbows and Unicorns fly out of a new BB14 Hero’s butt? Or will a new, dastardly Villain be born?

Oh boy- do the Big Brother 14 Newbies have a big punch in the schnoz coming their way..

In several interviews throughout the pre-season process, when asked about their worst nightmare in the Big Brother 2012 house, nearly every one of the new HG’s said the same thing…

That’s right..
The ONE fear they all had in common was returning Houseguests popping into to funk up their gameplan. And I cannot WAIT to see their bright, shining faces when they make that announcement on premiere night. Of course, the first thing any HG who calls himself a BB fan should do– is take a head-count. Once you see that there are only 12 of you…I mean, come on.. at that point you gotta know what’s coming. It shouldn’t take a brain like Ian’s to figure it out..

And speaking of being a Big Brother fan–I noticed something in the SUPERPASS HG Interviews, that was a welcome surprise. In the incoming crop of newbies, there seems to be a higher ratio of actual Big Brother fans to non-fans this year. In the past–after the first couple of seasons–the producers generally filled the house with Big Brother devotees–true fans–who’s goal was to brain their way through, guaranteeing us thrilling and intense seasons. It was a thing of glory– watching a house full of fan-based Houseguests that made the first eight season SOOOOOO much better than the last 5. If you haven’t noticed, in these most recent seasons, though the people may be getting prettier, they are also MUCH less knowledgeable about the game. In fact a large population of the last five seasons were “recruited” for their looks from pretty-people websites, and didn’t even watch the game prior to being picked.

HOWEVER—Glory be to the BB Production gods.. It looks like this year might be different..A large percentage of the newbies seem to be big-time fans! And if they’ll listen to their carefully-selected “mentors” WOOOOEEEEE!

Now– another skewed ratio that’s come to my attention..

In weighing out current crop of beefcake vs hottie, the womb-less seem to be a bit on the light side of the BB-sexy scale.
Now, I’ve always been one of those fans who want my favorite players to use that organ between their ears, instead of the one…well, you know.. I for one will not lament the lack of brawny, manly, muscular..flexed…oiled-up….glistening……
What? Oh, sorry… did I veg out there for a minute?
All right, all right. So maybe I’ll miss the unfair split of hunk vs siren just a bit. But honestly..
As long as our new HG’s pick up and learn from those who know.. As long as at the end of the day, we end up with some:
Sharp schemers–a la Boogie.
Cunning Conspirators–talking bout you, Brit.
Machiavellian Manipulators–hi Dan.
Or Beautiful Beguilers–’sup Janelle?
I can get over the lack of tons o’ pretty boys in the house.
