How to add a link to the comments section within your post - A great way to ignite discussion using an easy, direct link. 1) When writing the post include a direct call to action/discussion for your reader. For example, "I can't believe Julie Chen will be a HG this season! Do you think she's gone nuts?" 2) Publish/Schedule the post. This method works for both immediately live posts and scheduled posts. 3) Copy the post's URL (not the front page / site URL, but the actual URL of the post) 4) Go back to the editing view for the post 5) Select the text that was your call to action ("Do you think" - from Step #1) and paste in the post's URL. Don't close the linking window yet. 6) Add "#respond" to the end of the url in the link window. Close the linking window. 7) You should now have a link in your post, directly on the question text that looks like: "http://bigbrothernetwork.com/big-brother-12-twist-one-of-these-things-is-not-like-the-others/#respond" 8) Test the link (click on it if the post is live, copy and paste the link in to a new browser window if the post is scheduled) to verify it works and takes you straight to the commenting section on the post. 9) Go have a beer. This works great, especially for off-site readers (ie. RSS readers, email subscribers, etc.) because where ever they may be they are just one easy click away from going straight to the Comment window in your post. If you post an article with no call to action for your reader then don't be surprised if you get no response. Follow this method and you'll see an immediate jump in interactions.
