Big Brother 19 Live Recap: Episode 14 -Power of Veto!

I can not wait to see what happens during the POV comp and the Veto Ceremony tonight on Big Brother 2017. Things are just going to continue to get more explosive as the weeks go by and you are not going to want to miss a moment of it! We started off at the end of the noms ceremony and Cody and Jessica are celebrating her noms speech, but that is cut short when the reality of the possibility of Josh winning the veto sets in. Paul is telling Josh that he is fine because he has already starting thinking of a way to blindside Jessica and Cody with the vote.
Christmas overhears Cody talking about NASCAR and she asks him if he follows it and he tells her he does. She throws out the information that she was the first woman in a Sprint Cup NASCAR pit crew. Moments later, it’s time to pick Veto Players. Jessica picks HG Choice and she chooses Cody, Josh picks Jason’s name and Ramses picks Christmas’ name.
It is time for the Veto and Kevin is dressed as a bunch of grapes, he is hosting the game and it’s pretty hilarious. The second the HGs get outside, they know that they are playing an exploding challenge. It is BB Juicy Blast and they will be pouring ingredients into a big smoothie cup. They will be shown sequences and they are told which ingredient in the sequence they have to pour. If they choose the wrong ingredient, they are eliminated. Last HG standing, wins.
First person eliminated is Christmas and her smoothie just blew up in her face, literally. It was pretty hilarious to see the expression on her face that is now covered in yellow goop along with everything else in a five foot radius! Jason, Josh and Ramses all got eliminated after the next sequence. Which means it’s just Cody and Jessica left and Cody throws it to Jessica in the third round. Jessica won the POV, thanks to Cody throwing the comp.
After the POV, Paul tells Josh to act like he is upset about going home so that Jess and Cody don’t figure out their plan. Meanwhile, Paul is trying to make Ramses feel better about being a “pawn” and after his conversation with Paul, Ramses goes to talk to Jess. He tells her that he is nervous about being on the block and she tells him that she will make rounds and feel the situation out. She tells him that if she senses anything is wrong, she will pull him off.
Moments later, Raven comes in and Jess asks her about the vote, mind you Raven just talked to Paul about voting Ramses out and Raven is a horrible liar. Jess just thinks even more so that she should use the Veto to pull Ramses off and putting Alex up. She goes out to talk to Cody about this and he tells her that she is just being paranoid. He wants her to keep the noms the same, but she still wants to pull Ramses off just in case.
It is time for the Veto Ceremony and Jess is giving Ramses and Josh the ability to tell her why they want her to use the Veto on them. Jessica tells them that she has decided not to use the POV and that’s the end of that. She tells us that she decided not to use it because she didn’t want to stir the pot even more. What she doesn’t know is that Paul is planning a blindside and Ramses is going to be the one voted out, not Josh!

Actually Kevin HAS watched the show before (according to his daughters that are big BB fans). He even met Derrick at some meet and greet. Kevin knows more than he is saying. Just saying…
I just wish Jessica (and Cody) would realize their days are numbered anyway – this vote should convince them the only person who is “giving them a redo” is Mark – and at least try to take out Paul on the way out the door. Everyone is playing it so safe. I don’t think these hgs are dumb. Paul is just making it easy – by selecting their target each week – to allow everyone to float until Paul chooses them as the next target!! Problem is, Paul has them all convinced that each of of them is his REAL ally. Stupid people.
Most of them haven’t watched much of it – even Jessica used to watch it with her father, but she hasn’t watched in years and admitted she watched most of the last three seasons just before entering the house. Even Cody JUST realized last night the meaning of the word OTEV.
I think he’s been a vicarious BB watcher through his daughters. There are too many serious gaps in his knowledge (like he didn’t know their individual eviction votes wouldn’t be announced) for him to have watched the show with any serious personal commitment.
Kudos to his people skills and his intuitive skills, though, because I think they are currently serving him well! I turned on BBAD last night expecting to see Paul MAD as h#11 at Kevin, but apparently he didn’t know a thing. So maybe Kevin convinced Jessica she couldn’t tell anyone what he told her??
Kevin is sly. I honestly believe that his lack of knowledge about the show is an act. He’s no Superfan but he knows more than he is saying.
Oh, I agree. Sly is a very good word. And he’s definitely smart. But I believe that part about him not realizing their votes wouldn’t being announced. And I don’t know how you watch the show seriously without knowing that. I think he only watched the show when it meant he could spend time with his daughters – or talking about it with them. And when he did, I’m betting he was much more interested in the personalities and the interpersonal relationships than the rules of the game. Just my take on it, anyway.

I compare him to my husband. He tolerates watching the show in the beginning of the season because there are so many personalities in the house. But he’s NEVER watched beyond week 3 or 4, and he’s just listened to my talk about the blog and our conversations here just because he loves me. But even HE would know that the VTE are anonymously made. That just seems too basic a thing for Kevin not to know if he’s watched BB himself with any dedication at all. I’m just surmising that his knowledge of the show comes solely from his discussions with his daughters about the hgs, their personalities, showmances, interactions, etc.

I agree with Cat, Carol!! We want your input. That’s why we all come here. To share. And to VENT! I happen to be watching some feeds in the afternoon and we record BBAD, and I catch some of it, but we all learn from each other (and Tammie)!

Thanks I will pass. We wait so long for a good cast and they always seem to come up with crap. I will take Frankie over Paul any day of the week and he made me sick. I love that Christmas was a tire changer for Nascar. Anyone who knows nascar knows that is one of the toughest jobs for any pit crew member. GO CHRISTMAS
Yep. And the f-word … I’m actually shocked they can find enough footage to string together for the CBS show. EVERY.ONE. in this house uses the f-word EVERY OTHER word. All the girls. Kevin. Everyone. And the sexual conversations…. No shame whatsoever. Look for Elena in Playboy soon (and I’m not kidding). We’ve had this before on BB, but this is the first time it has been the ENTIRE house. Even Kevin participates in the crude conversations.
It’s funny because I was thinking the same thing, I’d rather have Frankie back or Rachel over Paul.

I like Christmas (and, in fact, is probably the only reason my husband is still watching this season later than any other before!). My only problem with her is she is Paul’s leading henchman. I could even respect that if I’d EVER heard her mention targeting Paul later – even in a DR session. But she hasn’t that I’ve ever seen. Both she and Alex have moved over to the dark side. But Paul knows what a threat they are. And I’m guessing that there is NO WAY on this green earth he will risk losing in F2 to another female!

Bite your tongue OFF! Paul’s a conversation hog, but he has some substance (when I can get past the fact that he’s about 150x better at BB than the current hgs and has already won this game, so why are we watching?). Frankie was 100% vanity. He would not have befriended Kevin because Frankie wanted all the attention on him. Just my opinion, though.
Paul’s annoying. VERY annoying but Frankie is unbearable!
Just goes to show you how much I don’t like Paul. Also, I haven’t seen anything of Frankie in years so he’s just a distant memory. Paul was here just a year ago, my memory of how despicable he is is still fresh YUK!!!
He was on the first episode of candy crush. So was Caleb. They should have brought him back if anyone. Other than that I have seen nothing of him.
