Big Brother 2014 Spoilers: Season 16 Premiere Date Announced!
|The wait is over, at least for the announcement, as CBS has officially announced the Big Brother 16 premiere date and when the fun starts again on Big Brother 2014! We know that the open casting calls have begun for Big Brother 16, but when can we expect to see it begin this summer on CBS? Find out the details below in my Big Brother 2014 spoilers!
CBS announced today that we have another early start to Big Brother 16, as the premiere will kick off on Wednesday, June 25 at 8/7c. We have the Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday format again. Thursdays live eviction shows will be at 9/8c and Sundays will be at 8/7c.
While things kick off on June 25, the first live eviction show won’t be until Thursday, July 3. At least that HouseGuest will be able to go out and celebrate the Fourth with family and friends???

No I have not been watching Mary. The weather was getting me very depressed. Well it is back to being nice today it is 80 and I am very thankful. How have you been.
I’m doing fine Carol but I will be one happy gale when winter is over. However, the weather forecasters are saying spring may be close but the freezing cold, snowy weather is going to go on and on and on and on….. Mother nature decided to tease us and yesterday and today and it’s +9 but we are getting a snow storm tonight and it’s going back down to -7 tomorrow. Just never-ending 🙁

Don’t know about you all, but I’m hoping they get a clue and give us some truly worth-watching HGs for BB16. Some beauties, some brains, some youth, some maturity, some wisdom. Some diversity – and I’m not talking the PC version. I mean a true representation of the great people who live in the US! 🙂

If BB Canada is any indication (same casting director), they haven’t learned a THING about how to choose HGs. Maybe they need a new casting director.
Really Cat is it that bad. OMG we need to pep it up or they will lose viewers and not come back next season.
Ok, they’re just a wee bit better than the BB15 cast. But really, that’s not saying much. You have the whiner, the in-charge personality, the followers, the i-can’t-get-a-clue girls that don’t realize the boys are coming after them. And the racist card has already been played. Along with one of the guys mooing at a girl because she’s slightly (and i do mean slightly) over weight. Mensa members these HGs will never be.
Oh, and of course the girl that sounds like a valley girl transplant with squeaky voice to boot. Her nickname at home is “Princess”. Nuff said.
You know, Cat, I get that there will always be “clueless” players. In a way, they play a role in the game as the real players who know what they are doing maneuver things around them. (Though I admit, the game is better when there are only about 2-3 floaters.)
My problem – which I think you probably agree with – is the basic moral integrity and personal depth to the human beings they put IN the game. BB15 failed hugely at this. It was frustrating both because no one was playing the game well AND we were subjected to the shallowness of the people themselves. Unfortunately, if you are going to insist on including only beautiful twenty-somethings in the house, you will have to look much, much harder to make those people have depth. Nothing personal; they just haven’t lived enough life yet. Then you add to that fact that, sadly, a lot of that generation is entitled (to be fair, it is OUR generation who screwed up raising them!) – you just have a recipe for a frustrating season of BB when every in the qualified to be in the house because they are young and beautiful. Period.
Of course, that’s just my take on the situation. I still maintain I won’t even tune in to BB16 if the entire cast is under 30 (though, frankly, that will be difficult because I’ll miss all of you).
I definitely agree Lilly. But that being said, i think we would have the same problem depending on WHICH over 30 people were chosen. On BB Canada they chose ONE HG that is over 30. Paul- 43 and a motivational speaker. Can’t get any better than that right? Wrong. He managed to piss off the whole crew first week there. He was the first to use the “racist” word. He’s aligned with 2 people. One is the guy that mooed at the heavy set girl and the other must have left his brain outside the BB door. So as a motivational speaker he is an epic fail! And as a HG. So while over 30 would be excellent – casting could be just as negligent in their selection. Personally i’d like to see a whole new casting director. This one needs to ride off into the sunset.
I agree with you, of course, Cat. I guess the point I was making is that I would like to see more (I know it cannot be ALL) people who (a) can PLAY the game (geez, is THAT too much to ask?!), and (b) have some character, decency, and depth to them. And if your whole house is under 30 and “beautiful” … the odds of that happening just plummeted. IMO
Geezzz…A HG with strategy, decency and wisdom!…Yep, Lilly you just asked for tooo much :). Although i think Todd would fit that bill :).

I have to make a correction here. There are actually TWO Hg over the age of 30 in the BBC house. In addition to Paul (43), there is Sarah (32). She has been my favorite from the get go. Now i know why. She behaves more maturely than the others. I KNEW i liked her for a reason. The others are too busy playing “mean girl” for my tastes.
Wow. Had no idea it was the same casting director. In fact, it tells me about those in charge that they didn’t first that person after BB15!! I’m still holding out hope for June, though…. *Heavy sigh*

Maybe my memory is totally gone, but I really don’t recall the Houseguests last year on BB C1 being all that bad. They were young and of course not fully cooked, but I didn’t think they were all that bad. Fore me, I really think age is setting in and BB is losing it’s excitement/enjoyment – I have been watching it since the beginning and perhaps, for me, it’s just run its course.

I didn’t watch BBC last year so i really can’t compare. But as for this year, i think they found the most immature bunch they could find. It’s not that you’re getting old….what’s getting old is the formula that they refuse to change. Like any tv show, if you keep repeating yourself, you’re destined for the cancellation heap. All it needs is a few tweaks, some fresh blood with some fresh ideas. The basic concept is still good. Don’t EVER say you’re getting too old for BB!! Because if YOU are, then I am – and i refuse to acknowledge that! On the other hand – anyone seen my cane and my Metamucil?

You are absolutely right, Cat. Look at Survivor. I might actually wish they changed things up even more (and a few less all-star seasons), but at least they finally got smart to the “let’s hang on till the merge” formulas everyone was using and added redemption island – and removed it – and three tribes. Makes it a little more interesting. BB is too used to the fact that they’re basically the only thing in the summer, and they refuse to change from the “hard bodies” concept. It’s getting old.

Good morning crew. Well here we are again another Wednesday and Survivor will be on. Along with Revolution, and American Idol. Back to two Tv’s and recording two in the living room and watching one in the bedroom. Should be an interesting night, welcome Tarena and Sue. do not think I have seen you two on here before. Has anyone else seen/heard this? News to me: “Most of the cast for the second season of Big Brother Canada was announced early Wednesday morning. But a new twist for season two is a mystery 15th houseguest who has not yet shown his or her face.
Details about the selection of the 15th houseguest will be revealed when Big Brother Canada returns, Wednesday, March 5 on Slice and Global. Hey, maybe Justin Bieber is looking for a secluded abode to get away from it all for a while.
Never heard of that one Mary. Bieber needs to be a house guest, at least he wont get into trouble with the law or go to jail. What a waste of such a young life.

The 15th HG will be voted in by the viewing audience. BBC has chosen 3 people to be in a secret room (otherwise known as the War room). They get to see the original 14 HGs on monitors in the war room but without sound. WE get to see both the original HGs and the 3 in the war room also. Thursday (tomorrow) the chosen HG (out of the 3) will enter the BB house to become an actual player. You can vote online for which of the 3 you think should enter. I’ve been watching the war room all week…along with the original HGs. If you watch the live feeds, the war room is usually on feed 5. All this started last week. You can use rewind if you want to review it.
I know, and thanks Cat, but it looks like there is going to be another guest coming that is not in the war room.
I think the notice you read refers to the Hg chosen from the war room. Because they were formerly referred to as the 15th HG before we were introduced to the 3 in the war room. But of course i could be wrong.

Yup, I’m wrong. I somehow read a very old article about BB C2. I did think it was odd that they’d have another secret houseguest. Sorry about that folks, I’ll be more careful in future. I think my brain has been frozen with all the freezing weather and snow us Canucks have had to endure this winter.
Lol..Sounds like you have the same problem i do. I keep asking what day it is. I can never keep up. Even though in my house there are multiple calendars, clocks with dates included and of course my trusty computer to keep me informed :). Maybe i’m trying to forego the aging process by forgetting what day it is. It’s not working. It only makes me look senile when i keep asking :).
Hey, you know what “they” say about getting older? It’s better than the alternative. I’ve had a few illnesses and can attest to that big time 🙂
Actually i can attest to that too. Ongoing medical problems keep me guessing about the future but i try to laugh my way through it all. All that laughter can’t hurt right?

When you’re faced with challenges and obstacles, sometimes it’s hard to know where to begin or how to keep going. But look around, inspiration can be right in front of you. Or it can be found in the words of people we admire – writers, politicians, celebrities, athletes, even our BB buddies.

Me too JO1. Sarah seems like a great Mom. She talks about her kids a lot and in a realistic way. Not just the nice things they do but the funny things as well. Ika is a mom also. But i just don’t get the same vibe from her as i do Sarah. Her striptease moves raised a few eyebrows. I know they’re bored in there but with cameras rolling 24/7 i think they could find a less salacious way of expressing themselves.
Hi ladies! I like Sarah too! She only three years older than Ika (The other Mom) but seems way ahead of her on a maturity level. Ladies, which of the three secret houseguests would you like to see enters the house as the final houseguest? I voted for Scott! I think he is lovely and will be a fun, interesting and colorful addition to the house.

Yep, i voted for Scott as well. I wish i knew him for real. He is hilarious! The other 2 would be the same old, same old. But Scott would definitely be a game changer. He changed into his alter ego (Contessa) on the feeds yesterday. I was hysterical with laughter. If he did that inside the BB house he would leave the HGs speechless!….and envious of his wit…and wardrobe.
I just hope all other voters see what see and vote for him as well. Did you happen to watch Survivor? Finally J’Tia is gone. I’m not enjoying Survivor much this season so far – I hope it picks up – they merge next week, hopefully that’ll help.
I’ve seen a lot of comments online and the vote is split between Scott and Allison. But most people agree that whichever one is voted in, they will likely be the next evictee. Hopefully they will get at least 1 week immunity. Enough time to make alliances so they will have a fair chance.
I watched Survivor but i’m also having a hard time getting into it. There’s no standout characters this season. I hope things are changed up once the merge takes place too.
Cat, I agree with you about Nate and Allison, although I think, Allison looks like she would bring some needed game plan to the girl’s alliance. I know it’s been only a couple of weeks, but the girls in the house are just sitting/laying around waiting for things to happen to them. It’s very frustrating. However, it’s Scott all the way for me; I saw him changed into Contessa as well, and he/she was hysterical. I’m very anxious for him to be in the BB house.

Good Morning, Miss Mary. Try to make the best of it girl. I know how you feel. When we got all that snow here in SC, you know what I did. I sat in front of the window and watched the birds. I threw some bread out on the snow and watched them go for it. I was out of bird food so that is all I had and they loved it. Also had some coffee with me. 🙂 have a wonderful day
Thanks for your suggestion, but I live in an apartment building and I can’t open my windows or balcony door as they are frozen shut. It is sunny today so hopefully a little later I can get them open. In the meantime, I guess I’ll just hunker down here and watch some programs I’ve been waiting to watch on-demand and maybe give myself a home-facial.

Did anyone watch the BB Side Show? It was the best part, I enjoyed it more than the actual BB C2 show. Gary and Peter are doing an outstanding job. And just another comment aside from the game, I think the Host, Arisa Cox is terrific as well – just love her hair dew and her wardrobe is outstanding.
Ok, just one more comment. Why is it all the women get so dressed up on eviction night, like they are going to a fancy outing and all the men dress like a bunch of guys going to a hockey game or something?
