Big Thanks For Making Big Brother 2014 More Enjoyable!
|While the Big Brother 2014 season came to an end last night with Derrick Levasseur being named the winner of Big Brother 16, it also marked the end of a crazy, busy summer for myself. Not gonna lie, but Big Brother 2014 tested my nerves at times and I cracked at times, but that finale last night made it all worth it and the tears of joy that came with it.
This season definitely brought us some boring moments and a lot of predictability, which was hard to cover every day, but I did it. I will toot my own horn and admit that I work my butt off during the summer. I have been writing online for a few years now and have come to realize this is a thankless job. I have been called everything from an idiot to being told I am deaf and not listening to the same performances as them. For me, an angry comment is the best comment. My writing and thoughts got you riled up enough to actually write your own comment. To me, that is a win!
However, my BBB family definitely makes me feel appreciated. We added to the family this season and I am glad to see the new faces around, but even more happy to see the “old timers” sticking around. We all have one thing in common: the love for Big Brother (whether the season or HGs suck, we all keep watching it)! Besides a few bumps in the road this season, BBB is a place where we can all share our thoughts and opinions on things and agree to disagree. Hell, maybe your thoughts will make someone else see things a little bit differently. I know my thoughts were changed on certain people or events this season based on some of your comments.
With that being said, I want to give a HUGE thank you to all the readers out there. Thanks for following along with me this season and having some fun during a season that was enough to put us to sleep at times, even though it was the twistiest of twisted summers ever. I am truly grateful to everyone that comes to this page on a daily basis and looks forward to what I have to say. To me, that seems wild, but I greatly appreciate it!
While the season has come to an end, posting on this site has not. I will continue to share posts and keep everyone updated on the happenings of these HGs and other BB alum and keep you informed on any BB17 news! People leave comments and chat on here all year round, but my posts are not as frequent.

All good groups need a good leader. We are lucky enough that we found a GREAT one. I’m all over the web each BB season looking at sites. And there is none that compare to this one. I’m always drawn back here to my BB family. And you ARE like family. Even when we have a poster that tries to upset our apple cart, we remain loyal to each other. Even though Codys loyalty cost him, our loyalty to each other remains the glue that keeps us coming back year after year. Thanks everyone for making my BB experience a journey that is worth taking. And special thanks to you Todd for being the best Big Big Brother brother that a family could ask for. Love to you all.
AWWW Thanks Todd, we all love reading your posts. I will be following you on RR with Survivor like I am sure most will be. We do have some sour apples pop in now and then and try to ruin our day. All I can say next year we can not feed any trolls. Keep posting folks, I for one look for you each and every day.
Well, since you said “an angry comment is the best comment,” I tried to come up with one. But darn you, I just couldn’t do it so I guess I will have to post something all sweet and sugary (I am from the South, you know!) and say again for about the thousandth time how much I have enjoyed your posts and this board again for my second summer. I keep saying if next year is again a dud, I will not watch BB but, even if I am able to keep that promise–which I seriously doubt–I hope I could still come here and and post my nonsense. Wish this could be bottled as a new category of anti-depressant–it would be a real money-maker! See you on Survivor and on my favorite “The Amazing Phil”–oops, sorry, I meant “The Amazing Race.” 😉

Thank you Todd for your blow by blow recap of BB16. I wanted to give up on this season because of the cast and the lame twists. Coming to this site was the only reason why I keep watching BB16. Here is a possible good twist for BB17 (if it has not been done already): Let America nominate the Houseguests for eviction or let America vote to evict the houseguest.
Wait a few weeks into the season and let America vote to evict their least favorite houseguest (or 2 or 3)–kind of a twist on “America’s Team.” I agree, Juneous, letting the fans have some kind of power would be a really good, meaningful twist!
Todd, if it weren’t for you waiting this blog, I would not have been able to remain sane this season with th HG that we had to watch! Thank you for all you did to help everyone vent about some of the, as Zach would say, “Fruit Loop Dingus” HG’s this season.

Was glad to read your spoilers on a daily basis…Will keep you all updated as far as my entry as HG for BB Canada, to air next spring (2015). Hi, I have read your comments now for 2 years, this year I made one. I have enjoyed very much Todd your comments and willingness to do this. I’m probably old enough to be grandma to most of you. 2 years ago I had a stroke and your comments have been wonderful to help me know what was going on. BBCat, Tessa from Texas and so many more have become like my grandchillen. I so look forward to your posts and than you ALL for allowing me to join this family.

I found this site last year when I was desperately looking for some intelligent discussion on the previous season of BB. I lurked back then, but decided this year to jump in with both feet. 🙂 Great moderator, great commentary, and great group of folks.

I happened upon this site last year and enjoyed it so much I came back this year. This is the first and only site I’ve ever commented on because the people here are so welcoming and polite even if you don’t agree on every subject. I did not have the live feeds so everyday I looked forward to Todd’s updates and the comments here about as much as the game itself. And i’d also like to add that my husband also thanks you Todd since I no longer bore him to tears talking about a show he doesn’t watch because I had you guys to vent to.
That last part made me giggle!

I found this site last winter when everyone was discussing the disaster of BB15, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming, i knew I had found a home. It was great to watch BB this year with all of you and I thank each and every one of you for great discussions and your friendship. And especially to Todd for leading us.

I just watched “The Talk” also and had the same response. WHY was Frankie even on there? Of course, they spent more time with him than with the guy who won BB16–I think his name was Derrick or something like that
Talk about being subtle. When Julie asked him what’s next for him he said “this chair feels pretty good”. If Julie cares about the shows ratings not dropping like a rock they need to stay far far away from Frankie because he would turn it into The Frankie Show.
I know when Freaky said that to Julie, I wanted to throw a brick through my TV.
They could give him a chair and every time he opened his mouth …zap him.
I agree…I was stunned and very disappointed to see Frankie sitting with Derrick…Excuse me did Frankie make it to the final 3.
I think he did make it to the final 3–the 3 most disliked HGs in BB history, LOL! Oh, wait a minute, he not only made it to final 3, he WON that contest!!

Just wanted to let you guys know that Donny will be on The Bold and The Beautiful on October 30-31st. Amber, Zach, Cody, Caleb, Hayden, Nicole and Devin will also be on at the same time. Plus past hgs Brendon, Rachel, Jeff, Jordon and Elissa. It’s a Halloween episode that will make fun of all the things the hgs thought Donny did for a living (ninja, professor, military..etc….). A lot of costume changes :).
This comes from TV Guide. They did an interview with Donny after the show!
And BTW….Donny ended up winning $55,000 ($25,000 for AFP, $15,000 for TA and a $15,000 stipend)!!! More than second place winner!!

They said they were limited by time and budget or they would have invited more of the BB cast. Which in entertainment speaks means – F Frankie 🙂
Besides, Frankie made sure he took advantage of almost all of the camera time available on BB–time for some of the others to get a little camera time.
Sounds more like a nice way to “Just say No” to Frankie .. and I’m all for that. One less place for him to stick his face wherever the camera points .. it’s kind of funny to watch him watch the camera or primary person in the group so that he can scramble his way into the pic.
Yep, he definitely has a “homing device” for cameras.
Donny’s getting $55,000, wow, this is wonderful news Cat and I’ve market my calendar for Oct. 30-31 for the Bold & The Beautiful, I sure don’t want to miss that. Thank you so much for the info!

What I didn’t particularly like was Derrick getting an extra $50,000. Why? If they had so much extra money they could have given Zach and Nicole something for second and third Fan Favorite.
Did you notice that Julie didn’t mention the extra $50,000 last night? Not a peep about it. And in one of Derricks interviews with Jeff he said he had seen the check and it was for $525,000 ($500,000 for the win and $20,000 for TA and $5,000 for the Holla comp win). So what the he*l happened to the extra $50,000???
I thought of that too, as they made a big scene about it and then never mention it once when he wins???
I put it on my calendar in red so won’t miss it! My memory is not what it used to be so I have to write everything down. It was disgusting to see frankie on The Talk. I wanted to see Donny! This is so fun….being part of the group….no sniping, backbiting, etc.
Thankfully i missed Frankie on The Talk today. Or maybe i should say “purposefully” i missed it 🙂 :). I watched his interview with Jeff after the finale. Call it morbid curiosity. I was hoping his sister (she was at the finale) had given him clues to the animosity the fans feel towards him. If she did it went right over his head!
I kinda get the feeling that insofar as his “popularity” is concerned, Frankie has his own ideas and the facts be damn*d! Never let the facts get in the way of Frankie’s “truth.”
That is why I stay on Todd’s sites. Some can come in and be rude, however if we avoid the Trolls and don’t feed them they will go away. Have a great weekend.

I’ve been out of pocket most of the day. Just got caught up on all the posts. Can’t really add anything of value to this “thank you” conversation except that I echo what everyone else has said. Thank you, Todd. Very much. And thank you to everyone here who has now gotten me through TWO seasons of BB without shooting myself. Okay. Maybe just throwing something heavy through my tv screen.
All I know is I get up every morning in the summer and look forward to checking my email for notifications from BBB or (now) Disqus. You are all my odd little family. And I’m very thankful for that.

Loved Monk and still catch it in reruns from time to time.
I know it’s all reruns but I still love it and the only time it’s on is Friday’s.

The Toilet Brush Joke
Lauren was frustrated. She had complained dozens of times to her daughter about her newest gag of kissing the bathroom mirror immediately after applying lipstick, but it was all to no avail. Finally, one day after spending a half hour scrubbing the mirror, only to find another kiss mark an hour later, Lauren had enough. “Lizzy!” she hollered, “What?” came her daughter’s reply through her bedroom door. I can’t find the toilet brush that I’ve been using to clean the bathroom mirror. Do you have any idea where it is?”
After hearing the gagging from behind the bedroom door, Lauren knew her days of cleaning kiss marks off of mirrors were over.
LOL! I wish just thinking about having some lunch but, for some reason, I lost my appetite. And a big “THANK YOU!” for that. 😉
