Big Brother After Dark To Remain Uncensored On TVGN

|

A lot of readers have expressed concerns that the Big Brother 15 version of “Big Brother: After Dark” would be greatly restrained now that it was moving from SHO2 to TVGN. According to reports from Big Brother Network, TVGN will not be censoring “After Dark.”

The biggest question we heard from many fans was whether or not “After Dark” would lose its uncensored privileges when moving from a premium channel to basic cable. “Fans aren’t going to miss out on any context or hot moments happening on “After Dark,” said Leslie Furuta [TVGN executive].

It was also revealed that there will be no commercials for the first week of BBAD. After that there will be only short commercial interruptions akin to what we saw happen on SHO2 in past seasons.

TVGN’s executive says the experience will be “literally no different” for the 2013 summer season. Of course this isn’t convincing all fans, some of which are sure it will be a disaster. We’re pretty convinced though and aren’t worried about this channel change especially since it now means people can watch “After Dark” for free without having to subscribe to Showtime anymore.

What do you think about the news about Big Brother 15‘s “After Dark” shake up this year? Are you excited to watch BBAD for free this time around?

Big Changes For ‘Big Brother 15’ This Summer

|

Big Brother season premiere

There are big changes for “Big Brother 15” this summer on CBS and with so much going on it’s easy to lose track of what all will be different when the season premiere hits. Let’s run through what we know so far for the 2013 season.

The most important change right now is an early premiere for Big Brother. Instead of starting in early July per its usual routine, CBS has moved up the Big Brother 15 start date to June 26, 2013. That’s about two weeks earlier than what we’ve come to expect. But don’t worry, they’re making up for it by running the season longer. What? Oh yeah.

A new promo for Big Brother 15 from CBS says this year will be “starting earlier, going longer.” Now that could either mean the season finale is later than normal, or it’s right on the usual mid-September end date but with the early premiere that translates to a longer season.

Next up for changes is the crucial Big Brother Live Feed. “Crucial” because without them you’re missing most of the real game. For the past 13 seasons we’ve watched the Feeds on Real’s SuperPass, but that won’t happen this year. CBS ended their relationship with Real to self-manage the subscription service.

As for what that means regarding pricing, early bird specials, affiliate programs, well we just don’t know yet. The season premieres is less than four weeks and CBS remains mum on details. We hope they’re working up something great though!

The latest announced change for Big Brother 2013 will be the “After Dark” series. These late-night broadcasts aired on Showtime’s SHO2 as a nightly, uncensored, three-hour peek instead of the BB house. That’s going to be a lot different this year as CBS is moving “Big Brother After Dark” from SHO2 to its newly acquired network, TVGN (TV Guide Network). Along with the channel swap the nightly shows will be reduced to two-hours and run from midnight to 2AM. We also suspect “After Dark” will now require some level of censorship as TVGN is not a premium channel like Showtime which can air more mature content late at night.

All in all these are some significant changes for Big Brother 15. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that all these rapid modifications to our usual BB fare work out for the best. What do you think of CBS’ decisions?

Big Brother 15 To Start Next Month

|

Julie Chen Big BrotherBig Brother 15 will start next month with its premiere on June 26, 2013, according to press releases from CBS. This marks the fifteenth installment in the long running reality series, but the first in recent history with a pre-July launch.

It’s suspected the move from July to June was made in part to undercut ABC’s knockoff reality series “Glass House” which continues to be associated with legal battles between the two parties. No worries there on our part though, we’re clearly in the Big Brother corner on this one.

Preparing for the early season premiere, casting for the summer series 15th season will end this week as production will sit down with the casting team to review applicants and scouted talent to form the next cast of HGs.

According to Julie Chen this season will feature the “most HouseGuests ever” as CBS continues to seek out even more applicants. Of course we’ve heard the “most ever” line before when last season tied a previous season for the title of “most.” How many things can be the “most?” Unless Julie got sloppy with her words, and we doubt that, then we’ll be seeing at least sixteen HGs if not more.

Considering the early start planned for Big Brother 15 it seems likely that production will need more cannon fodder for early eliminations to keep the schedule afloat.

Diehard fans should take note of a major change for the 2013 season of BB. After thirteen long years working with RealNetworks CBS has decided to cut out on their own and will be handling the Live Feeds directly for BB15.

Are you ready for Big Brother 15 to start up on June 26, 2013 on CBS? We’re excited to share another awesome season with you so be sure to join us from June to September. Wow, that’s going to be a lot of BB!
