Have a question for any of the Big Brother 2009 contestants? Then you’re in luck! CBS is offering up an opportunity to submit questions which will be put in front of the 12 HGs selected for this latest season of Big Brother. If your question is selected, then you could hear the answer in one of the planned houseguest interviews. Sounds fun to me!

Questions must be submitted to CBS by June 25, 2009.

Phew. All of the talk of a short season had be worried, but today I can confirm via CBS that Big Brother 2009 will have 12 contestants entering the Big Brother house!

Still no word on who the houseguests are, but we should hear those details the week before Big Brother 2009 premieres on July 9, 2009.

Finally. We now know that CBS is planning to launch the Big Brother 2009 season on July 9th, a Thursday, at 8pm and then follow up the premiere with Sunday and Tuesday episodes. This will return us to the more normal schedule of Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday, giving us a breather between each episode.

I like this layout much better than the Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday rush because of the extended downtime on each Thursday. The feeds’ energy should remain much more level this season.

Big Brother 2009 should start up in about 6 weeks (early July) so things are startling to bubble on the surface of BB. First up is the news that casting has been completed and all finalists were notified for the 2009 season. So if you applied you’d know by now if you were still in the running.

Next we’ve got the very first commercial for Big Brother 2009 which looks to be using mostly footage from the past two seasons and does little to provide more information on actual start dates and themes for this year. Check that out below.

Lastly, for fans of Big Brother’s “House Calls” you’ll be disappointed to know that it appears to have been canceled unless a new sponsor steps in to save it, according to its host Gretchen Massey:

Subject: House Calls Canceled!
Body: Just wanted everyone to know, there’s no more House Calls! They couldn’t find a sponsor and have decided not to go forward with it during this season of Big Brother.

The casting events and application process for Big Brother 2009 have wrapped up. Hopefully you were able to get your application postmarked by May 4th so it will count!

We should know in about three weeks when the casting selections have been made. Robyn Kass with Kassting Inc has usually revealed this news on her MySpace page, so we’ll keep a watch out and let you know as soon as we hear the news.

Big Brother 11 is expected to begin in early July, so get ready!
